“Depressing”
Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the nearby Puri Bagus Candidasa and wanted to eat outside of the hotel, so we thought of Asoka, which already passed on our way to the hotel. The restaurant is not too big, and has an artificial pont in the back.

We were the only guests and wanted to order some wine, but there was no wine left. We saw a big plate 'free wi-fi' and asked for the code, but the wi-fi didn't work ("cable is broken"). I ordered a chicken satey with nasi goreng and the fried rice was awful. Next to that, there were ants walking on my plate. Depressing restaurant, you might consider going a bit further.

“Good indonesian food in simple setting, good value”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We stayed with our family at a villa close by and Asoka was within walking distance, so we went there twice for dinner. Authentic indonesian food, good value, friendly staff. Small and simple restaurant away from the main street. You probably only pass there if you stay close by. There are hotel Puri Bagus and Villa Rossa and several private villas along the street.

Great place to have an authentic indonesian dish in simple setting. We only tried their indonesian dishes. They do offer also international dishes.
Lots of guests raved in their guestbook about their duck dish which needs to be ordered in advance (?). Haven't tried that but we loved all other dishes we ordered.
