Alola Inn has basic clean rooms and a very nice pool. The small rooms seem a bit dark, but the airconditioned ones are fine. The owners are friendly people, one of them likes to joke around. We also enjoyed the four dogs and fourteen cats, who wander arround peacefully. You can walk to the beach in ten minutes. Alola Café in the centre is nice as well. The food and service are incredibly good! You walk to the center in 15 minutes. Pandangbai seems a bit rough at first, but after a few houres you fall in love with the atmosphere and the nice and quiet beaches and café's. So yes, we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights in total. Loved the place. Clean rooms for a variety of budgets. Great pool and lounging area.
Marco and his family are all super friendly and attentetive.
Good breakfast included in the price.
They also own a restaurant in town which does great food.
Really close to town without being right in the mix and getting gawped at by tourists walking by!
Would definately stay again.

Perfect place to chill for a few days in Padangbai. Near enough to town and far enough away to avoid the noise and bustle. Short walk to Bias Tegul Beach. There is a choice of rooms surrounding the gardens and excellent pool. The food is great, but the best feature is Marco and his family and staff who go out of of their way to make you feel welcome and totally relaxed nothing is too much trouble and if you don't need anything Marco is good for a chat over a coffee or something a little stronger.
Thanks Marco I'll be back soon!

We stayed here after another Inn turned us away because they had double booked us apparently. I think we ended up lucky, because Marko and his family were great. The place is very simple, no frills, but clean and the air conditioning worked well. It's a short walk to the main strip in Padangbai, and one of my favorite things to do here was to sit out on our porch and listen to the Hindu and Muslim calls to prayer as they echoed up through the hills. (There is a temple and a mosque near the inn).

Laundry service was great and inexpensive, and the breakfast was good as well. Highly recommend!

Marco and his wife Agung ... and several other family members ... together with approximately 24 cats and an assortment of other fauna run the Alola Inn, lodging totally sufficient for a stay in Padang Bai, a shall-we-say less-populated part of Bali. It's essentially a port town and port-sounds such as alerts and sailing announcements will tend to punctuate the day.
You'll most likely arrive via one of the many shuttles posing as Bali's 'national tour bus service', or equally you've come in from the boats from Lombok or Gili. Either of these will drop you on the waterfront from where you'll walk along the parade past the port, past the post office police and customs and up an incline which gets steep. Alola Inn will come into view next to the Bamboo Lodge. Marco will show you your choice of bamboo airy units with mosquito net and fan unit perched on a dresser, and further on, air conditioned units of a more solid construction, with or without mosquito nets. You'll spot the pool and this is a big plus especially if you are in laziness mode and without agenda. Look out for the dive classes held there and you could find yourself posing as marine mammals for the mainly German students. Wifi is property-wide and it's trusty. Pretty much any need you have can be catered to so don't hesitate to ask for their reasonable laundry service as an example. The food is good. Be around for the fishlady's arrival each morning and you'll know what to order that day aside from the usual nasi dishes and perhaps gado gado. Alola Inn may as well be a cattery and you'll be making some feline friends very quickly with new additions almost every week.
The location is great in that you're 10 minutes away from the best beach in Padang Bai, a fairly rugged incline up over the head which plunges down to the beach ... and its itinerant 'warung' ladies keen to cater. The market is in the other direction and just past the police station, starting 0400 and pretty much over by 1000.
You'll want to sample some of the more touristy eateries which line the waterfront which all seem to sport the same 'fresh fish today - 5 varieties' noticeboard.
Altogether a pleasant no-fuss place put on by a very accommodating gentleman and his wife. You can't go wrong.

Because the swell was high we were unable to swim in the sea, thankfully the pool satisfied our kids. Food was excellent but took some time to prepare, worth the wait. Rooms were simple and we didn't need aircon although a ceiling fan would have been nice.
Easy going, relaxing place to dsty, no sales hassles either.

This good budget hotel is great for diving and staying in padang bai. The white sand beach is 10 min walk and good for swimming and relaxing. The bungalows have great beds with mosquito nets. The rooms are clean as is the pool and restaurant. During our stay there was a 3 day holiday in the temple next to the hotel. The hindu temple offers 24 hours a day music and singing for 3 days strait. After one night you have heard it all! This was the only less great experience here. For backpackers a great stay!
