Alila Manggis is fill of professional but relaxed staff. Alila has been a delight for my partner and myself, but most obvious was the incredible effort made by ‘Mariani’ the head chef who ensured we loved every single bite! Thankyou. And to ‘Winda’, exceptional waitress. The team at F and B Alila is led by Made Arnaya so he must teach so well because the staff is superb.
Our only slight negative are practical things like the TV reception being poor, A/C not effective enough and expensive for what is offered. BUT overall we had a great, great time. Service should always come first and this we loved!

Dear Kehren E,

Thanks for taking the time to share your Alila Manggis experience with other travelers.

We really appreciate that you recognise our professional team, and for highlighting some of our superstars. Indeed, Mariani, Arnaya and Winda are just exceptional and we are blessed to have the as part of the Alila Manggis family. We are working with our TV supplier on improving the signal strength in our area, the fact is, when it rains it is sometimes negatively impacted. As with the TV, although is just some AC that have issues from time to time, we are working on long term solutions for our system. Our Corporate chief engineering is visiting us to redesign our systems for the long term run.

Once again, thanks for your lovely words and we look forward to welcome you back soon,

So if I were to split the score, the hotel accommodation would be a 3, the staff and restaurant would be a 5. Let me break it down...
The hotel rooms are old, small and ready to be refurbished. They're clean, but the wear makes them look quite old and unkempt. I'm sure the staff do the best they can to keep them looking good, but at the end of the day they've seen their best and are ready for a refresh. They're quite small, with a small shower area and toilet. No bathtub, and the sink is part of the room; not the bathroom.
The grounds are well kept, and the swimming pool had just finished renovations when we arrived so was absolutely pristine, perfect temperature and very clean.
The staff around the hotel simply can't do enough for you, they're more than helpful, and many came to say hello when we arrived; including the General Manager. I certainly couldn't fault the staff at all.
The food out of the restaurant was sensational, same quality as we consumed in Alila Seminyak. As per my previous reviews the food was as good as you'd receive in high quality restaurants in Sydney.
This tops the food and staff attention...... One night my 16 year old son was feeling a little under the weather and hadn't joined us for dinner. Our waiter was quite concerned and sent food to his room to ensure he was OK, and then reported back that he was good and had taken the food. If I'd asked for that service I'd have been happy, but for our waiter to lead is incredible service.
I wouldn't go back to Alila Manggis unless the rooms were refurbished; but if you're looking to just escape and sit by the pool this is an excellent option.

I've been to Alila Uluwatu, and the view and hospitality was really great over there. But Alila Manggis was exceptional. The staff remembered our names (we were in a honeymoon). And the food pulled us to not go anywhere, but eat in Seasalt restaurant! Mt. Agung activity is an inevitable situation, and so they (Alila) have done what they could do. Great, great job!

Was supposed to stay 3 nights due to the ash cloud covering the hotel premises we stayed 1 night. Traveled with my husband and with our young baby.

Check in : Fast, excellent warm and sincere welcome by Oki. He went beyond to ensure the room we booked was what we needed and wanted. We booked the superior but he showed us the deluxe room on the way to our room just to give us the feel. Beautiful view. Didn’t change our mind because we wanted the superior simply because we wanted easy access to the pool/beach.

Hotel ground/property: beautiful hotel, the moment we came we could feel the quietness, calmness, peacefulness, felt like time stopped, no rush busy feeling. If you are trendy couple, and your taste is more to busy hustle big fancy hotel with modern feeling then this is not your kind of place.

Room: we stayed in superior, considered small, no bathtub, definitely signs of old property but well maintained, direct access to the lawn and pool, clean , they refreshed the room few hours after check in. But mind this room is on first door, there were a lot of bugs as it’s connected to the lawn.

Beach: not the best beach, dark sands but having sea view directly from the room and listening to the waves met our expectations.

Breakfast: delicious, great service, different way of serving (not buffet type) unlike other hotels. Unique.

Room service:Fast and surprisingly very delicious.

The pool: perfect temperature, even for a swim with a baby. Decent size and classic.

Not all aspects are excellent but to us this hotel knows how to show us the experience we were after (the property, the calmness and peacefulness ambience, and utmost the guest service) , everyone went beyond, all the staff to the general manager!

Unfortunately due to the ash cloud we had to leave the hotel, and the staff handled the emergency situation exceeded my expectations. The room division manager came to our room for every update we needed. He could’ve called, easy, but he didn’t. This kind of effort and service that made you feel respected and specially treated.

If you are looking for quietness, peacefulness, real Bali and relaxing experience I highly recommend this hotel. So make sure you have the right expectation before you book. If you are trendy couple looking for beach bar, party, modern setting, convenient location to shops/bars this isn’t what you are after.

Will we come back? Absolutely!!! We can’t wait to go back!

Having done Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa dua, Ubud etc over the years what a great place this was. Nice, tidy resort perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay. Accommodation a little on the small side, but clean and tidy and quite ok for what you need. Pool area very nice, service was exceptional and restaurant near top notch for both range and quality.
Candidasa nearby small and not much to see there.. but if you just want a quiet relaxing time with a book and sun and pool and the odd cold one.. this is the place.

Dear David P,

Thanks for taking the time to write about your time with us.

How right you are by desbribing Alila Manggis as a quite getaway that is perfect for relaxation and away from busy areas like Kuta or others. It feels is a true gem nested in the real and untouched side of Bali. As you mentioned, one of the option is just relaxing and unwinding by the pool enjoying our top notch food and services or the great spa. There is also plenty to do in the area, from active spirit activities like rice paddles trekking, scenic mountain bike rides, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, to cultural and wellness activities such as holly mans, balian healers, and the best temples in Bali.

We really appreciate your recognitions and words, thank you! Please do not hesitate to contact us directly for your next visit,
