Had a quiet but pleasant stay here. The location is good - only a 5 minute walk from the commotion and shops of Padangbai and the White Sandy beach, but also nicely tucked up away in amongst all the locals houses so felt very authentic. Staff were nice, the breakfast was small but fine. No air con only fans so was very hot in the dorm room at night. Didn't meet any other young travellers, very few other guests at the hostel, but otherwise I enjoyed my stay.

The staff at lemon house are extremely friendly, helpful with booking trips / travel and make a very pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and there's a very nice spacious communal area with balcony over looking the town (which makes the stairs up to the hostel well worth it!)

Breakfast is nice - fresh fruit with a choice of eggs or toast and peanut butter and jam.

The beaches and town are a short walk away. You can get to restaurants and bars within 15 minutes and the beaches 10/20 depending which one you visit - both are worth visiting!

(A side note for dining - ozone is an excellent restaurant with good quality good and fair prices)

This guesthouse is definitely worth a stay! You get a wonderful view over Padangbai and the hills that surround it. The staff is really friendly and they serve you a freshly prepared breakfast every day.

We spent there two nights in a deluxe double room with balcony with perfect view over Padang Bai. The Hostel is in walking distance to the harbour and a lot of good restaurants are nearby. Unfortunately the place is not well cared for. The room was quite dirty, there were no towels and the breakfast wasn't worth mentioning. So in my opinion it is nice place to stay for one or two nights but no longer. But if the management wanted it could be a really nice place to stay a few days. Just tidy up a little bit, forget about the breakfast and get some additional staff.

Absolutely horrendous experience here. First of all, the location is not as advertised and it is much further out of Padangbai. Their listings claim they are 200m from the harbour but is much further. Second of all, the hostel is up around 100 steps which is very difficult with luggage. They advertise a porter service but in reality this does not exist, and when I asked staff about it they laughed in my face and said there was no porter service. Third of all, as a young girl travelling I felt very unsafe here- the hostel is down a long dark alleyway which I hated walking down at night (and where we saw several rats!). Finally, around 5pm we noticed lots of ants in our room, but the hostel staff had left the property and do not return until morning. We realised that the ants had actually made their nest in the mattress, a problem which hostel staff were clearly aware of but did not mention since they left some bug spray out for us in their absence. Unable to change room because there were no staff available and with ants crawling across the whole bed, we were forced to try and sleep on the floor. Furthermore, the shared bathroom was filthy and smelled foul. There are hostels closer to the centre of Padangbai where I would recommend you stay instead of here!
