Three Brothers Bungalows
Ranked #52 of 88 Hotels in Legian
Reviewed November 13, 2009

I have visited Three Brothers Bungalows on several occassions.
The staff are friendly & helpful. Mostly European visitors stay here.
We always ask for a deluxe fan room or bugalow when we visit . (I have found the airconditioned ones to have an old mouldy smell to them.)

Our room:
-Was always clean with a four poster bed (including mosquito net)
-Had an outdoor bathroom with both hot and cold water. It included an older bath (but clean) and a pebble courtyard. I loved it!
-Had the traditional wooden entrance doors and no glass on the windows. (Only the traditional carved wooden bars), so we used mosquito coils at night.

Although there is a lovely swimming pool with a "pool bar", it only houses the towels. So you won't be drinking cocktails here. The beer is cheap and the breakfast is basic but very nice. (you won't get sick from the food here) We paid about $5 AUD extra in the mornings to have banana pancakes with icecream and freshly squeezed juice for the 2 of us:) The resturant in the centre of the hotel grounds made beautiful food at an exceptional price. Much less than normal hotel prices.
Three Brothers has a Spa but I never used it as I found 2 really cheap ones at the reception entrance end of the hotel. (Massage & Cremebaths a specialty!)

Great for a quiet and relaxing break.

We arrived late evening and told there was no booking. Presented emails showing communications and finally got 2 rooms (not 3). No apologies from reception, and we later found out they were only 65% full...I can't figure out why they didn't apologise for the mix-up and offer different rooms...ahh well.
But on the bright side, the gardens are immense. Rooms are rather well spaced out, although the bathrooms have got a bit dated.
The pool was great, the basic breakfast wasn't...ahh well.
Great location, with a short walk to the beach.
Overall a pleasant enough short stay.

Nice place to stay. We did not have a booking and were given the option of a room with no AC, fans and double beds. We had a room on the second floor, with 4 poster double bed with mosquito net, and fan over the top. There was the same on the next floor, so we had 2 bedrooms very spacious and a bathroom outside. There was no glass in the windows at all. The windows and bathroom had curtains instead. The setting is gorgeous and loved the bathroom. A fridge, however no coffee and tea facilities. Missed this. Breakfast was included, fairly basic but good. Would be better so start breakfast earlier than 7.30 though. Drinks a bit pricey, but plenty of places around. Great pool and most of the staff are very friendly. Would definately stay there again.

Three Brothers Bungalows is an older style hotel with rooms scattered throughout a large garden area that gives a good "Bali" feel. It is a very nice, quiet hotel that would suit famiiles and is not over priced. The rooms are clean and large sized, I stayed in a Deluxe AC room (#43). Pool & surrounding area is clean and well maintained. Service was good & the staff friendly. The breakfast was included and whilst not large wa adequate.

Stayed for 2 nights mid Oct 2009. Very impressed by the Balinese style bulidings and statues in the garden (and resident monkey!). Breakfast was not the best - we had not been given the appropriate vouchers by the reception staff and found we had to pay extra for the meal.
Whilst the gardens and swimming pool are very nice, the state of the room was not all that great. The aircon lacked any real power and high temperatures made sleep very difficult. Decor was dated and rather shabby. The dividing walls were extremely thin and we could hear the residents next door coughing during the night.

I stayed here in July with my Husband and three kids aged 15,13 and 11. I love this place and will be back. having read mixed reviews before i went I was a bit nervous. It really comes down to what kind of accommodation you enjoy. The room we stayed in was a Superior Fan room. there is no glass on the windows only wooden bars so I can see how some people could get nervous, especially if they were on their own. I loved the outdoor shower and toilet. The rooms were a bit hot at night but i reckon it's a lot more healthy to sweat then breathe in some of their air conditioner vapours! Loved having no TV as the family spent more time playing cards etc. One down side is their service . There are no signs on any paths and it takes a while to get your orientation. You have to ask for breakfast vouchers also. They were nice friendly people but the property could do with a bit of "service" lessons. The pool was pretty old and a bit dissapointing but I will definitely be back here. I loved it.

I spent 2 nights at Three Brothers Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely bungalows are located in a sprawling garden filled with beautiful plants and statues. Breakfast is included and served in a nice bungalow. There's a nice pool as well. The Inn is about 2 blocks from the beach. Room rates are very reasonable and for $10, Three Brothers will pick you up at the airport - even at 2 a.m. when I arrived! An excellent choice for families.
