We stayed at Lokha in Legian area of Bali. The hotel currently has construction starting at 10 am. The lift does not work as it is under construction as well. The construction was loud at times requiring us to yell in our room to hear each other. (Our room was located adjacent to the lift). The pool bar does blare the Guns N Roses music. So, if you want to relax in your room and get some sleep, this may not be the hotel for you. The crowd was very nice and diverse in age. Loads of kids and smokers! The staff was extremely nice and attentive. The television was broke. We called and they sent up someone to fix it within minutes. The same thing occurred for maid and room service. A buffet breakfast was included. The fare included: an egg station, pancake, potatoes, rice, toast, pastries, rice. However, avoid the tough bacon. The food was good. We also tried the spring rolls and other appetizers with our drinks. We found the prices to be fair. The pool and pool bar were very lovely. Skip the "spa." They provided us with 2 10 minute free services and then I had a 60 minute massage. The girl shorted us about 5 minutes of the 10 minute free service. The 60 minute massage was 45 minutes. I didn't mind because the spa is next to the pool so you cannot relax. You can hear the kids screaming in the pool or the Smashing Pumpkins tunes...not spa music. Also, the massage was pretty bad. The girl used a ton of oil and just rubbed the oil back and forth..no actual massage. It was like she was applying suntan lotion. We stayed in room 304-3rd floor right next to the stairs and lift. I wouldn't choose this room as it is a bit noisy when people were running up and down the stairs and playing (kids that were staying down the hall). The room was large and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The room overlooked the pool and had a balcony. The location was very close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We really thought this location was top notch. All this being said, we did think the service was top notch, the pool was refreshing, and would return to try another room when the hotel is not under construction.

Lokha is well located if you want to be in the middle of the action, the room was good and very clean, unfortunately the shower is a step into the bath type, and my wife slipped and fell out onto the tiled floor hitting her head and ended up with whiplash, so beware of the slippery tubs. Breakfast was just OK, lacked variety. The pool area is a bit small and when we were there it was taken over by 30 Bogans that seemed to think they owned the place, making it unbearable to be there, others staying there felt the same way, we were all happy to see a bus roll up one morning to take the lot of them out, why do we have so many low life losers in our country that insist on giving the rest of us a bad name overseas? Think we will be heading back to Seminyak in future, much quieter and less ferals.

Room Tip: Ask fro a North or East facing room if you enjoy sitting on the balcony, after 1 pm it was too hot t...

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and found it to be a very friendly hotel located on one of the main streets of Legian. The rooms are clean & large and all open up to views over the pool. We had breakfast included which was great(I can thoroughly recommend there pancakes)although you can get breakfast less than 50m away for less than AU$4.00. The pool is clean and adequate and the swim up bar is fairly priced AU$2.60 for a local beer and AU$5 - 6.00 for a cocktail. The music around the pool can get a little loud but most of the time its ok.

Room Tip: Corner family rooms open to the street so could be noisier. Room numbers ending in 5,6,7 & 8 are...

Don't stay here if you want a relaxing hotel. The music starts early and doesn't stop till 7. My room was on the third floor and I couldn't even have my room open onto the balcony as it was too noisy. I don't mind it in the afternoons but from 10 or 11am it's just too much. I was here for a week then moved to other accommodation for 3 days.

We stayed at The Lokha 20-27 September and loved it. After recommendations on Trip Advisor we booked a Super Deluxe (on the ground floor) which was perfect. Our room opened straight out to the pool area which is gorgeous. At first I was concerned about the hotel being confined around the pool, but that is what we ended up loving the most. We were able to keep an eye on our 13yo at all times whether we were in our room, on our patio, or in the restaurant.
The pool is pristine clean with lots of lounges around it. Pool bar was great and yes, they did have music playing 10am-7pm but it wasn't too loud at all. I commented to my partner while we were there that it was nice that the music wasn't too loud.
The staff were extremely friendly (hello to Wayan Suras) and couldn't do enough for us.
Breakfast was great, particularly the banana pancakes made to order. The comments about lack of variety leave us astounded. All I can say is these people must have quite a range of breakfast choices at home...cos we usually just have weetbix every day. It was a treat to have a such a choice at the Lokha.
The room was spacious even for 3 of us and the bathroom is huge. When we arrived our room greeted us with a wonderful frangipani smell.
The location of the hotel is really good also. Very close to Garlic Lane and good shopping straight outside. The boys surfed every day and the beach is just a 5 min walk.
This was our first stay at The Lokha, but we'll be back.

Room Tip: Super Deluxe 107 is a great room away from the road.

Yes there was music but it was during the day. Yes some people never left the pool, but it was what they want to do on their holiday. As for us it made a great base to go out and do tours from. Shops, Resturants and beach just down the road. We where able to go out and try a different resturant each and every night. Our room was quite when it mattered (the night), the food for breakfast was good. If we go back to Bali we are heading out of the major towns and heading for more a different Bali and looking for some beautiful clear water beaches but this was a good start in Bali for us.
