“First time in Bali”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights for our first holiday away in Bali. We weren't too sure what to expect and honestly don't have a lot to compare it to.

The hotel is located on a busy stretch, I think the main road of Legian so it is among all the hustle and bustle with lots of shops and restaurants.

We stayed in a superior suite (even though we booked a deluxe suite and was told it was not available due to a toilet issue), room 104 on the ground floor, which had the pool, reception and restaurant right opposite our room. The room was spacious with a king size bed (which was very hard), was tidy but not overly squeaky clean (that is just my own personal standard of cleanliness that the bathroom should be thoroughly cleaned before new guests arrive and not to provide horribly stained towels which looked and felt like they hadn't been washed). The air-conditioning was very cool. The water pressure was just a trickle and the temperature was just only lukewarm which seemed to be an issue in all the rooms and every morning the bathroom had a sewerage smell which lasted an hour or so, again an issue in all of the rooms. We got the impression that overall the hotel is about 15 years old and needs quite a lot of maintenance and attention.

The swimming pool had a lovely warm temperature and we enjoyed swimming in the pool.

For my husband and myself we found sleeping to be a bit of an issue as the mattress was very hard (again our own personal opinion as I do not like rock hard mattresses) and as the hotel is located opposite the Legian Pub so it was very loud and noisy to try and sleep.

The staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant had nice food. We had about an hour and a half to check out and although my husband and I were packed an awaiting our transport to our next location and were still paying customers, we felt like we were rushed and forced out of our room by one of the staff who wanted the room cleaned up.

To be honest, we wouldn't stay here again if we ever came back to Bali as for us we would enjoy somewhere more quieter, but if you are someone who enjoys the nightlife & hustle & bustle on a budget, then this may be for you.

I was surprised about how spacious the room that I stayed in this hotel. It has the seating area, separate dressing area and big bathroom (even tho the water pressure of the water is a bit low I think). It even has seating area outside my room which was located on the ground floor directly facing the pool. Overall, the staff are friendly. Hotel location is good and not too crowded. Breakfast was served a la carte instead of buffet style like most of the hotel. Free wifi is only available in the lobby area. It's just too bad that you have to pay for wifi internet connection inside your room nowadays while most hotels provide this for free, even the budget hotel. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay and it's value for money.

Room Tip: I prefer the ground-level room. It's facing the pool and you have your own private seating area.

The Casa Padma Suites is an excellent place to stay right in the middle of Legian. It is located close to great restaurants, good shopping and the beach is just a short stroll away. Staff are really friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are large with separate sitting area, comfy beds, dressing room and full size bathrooms. The pool wraps around the reception area and in front of the rooms and is the colour of a natural lagoon rather than being an artificial bright blue. I have stayed at the Casa Padma before and have booked to go back in May and January. Great place, wonderful staff and excellent value for money. Love the Casa Padma.

Room Tip: Rooms on the side are quieter.

Stayed in room 204 for 12 nights free airport pickup and drop off superior room looks like photo king size bed a little hard but most beds in Bali hard.front desk staff the two wonderful ladies where fantastic always smiling and always very helpful all staff where so nice and happy.people have complained about pool we found it to be very clean and good temperature hotel slightly dated but for size of room and price was very good.the legian pub a little loud but rooms 04 05 06 07on all floors are protected a bit from noise not to bad again it is Bali.204 has lounge king size bed walk in robe and good size bathroom hot water can be a little delayed so turn shower on and do other things then come back and good temp.breakfast reasonable maybe some more choices would help for long stays but filling restaurant very nice try the sesame chicken.will stay again and would recommend and wifi in lounge corner from restaurant.see you next time casa.

Room Tip: Rooms 04 05 06 07 on all floors are protected a lot from noise of pub

Stayed 2 nights in standard room in this hotel, from the first day the front office is very not friendly, we want to have an extra bed in one of our room but they not permit it even the room actually have a space, but still we have to pay extra person charge without a extra bed. after that we having other problem with the bathroom, the water stuck and cannot go down, then have a very stink smell all over the room from the bathroom, we complain and the engineer cannot fix the problem, then we asking for change to other room, but the front office said we dont have another standard room, and looks like they dont care about our problem in their room. we really angry about that until sometime they come again and give other standard room for us to stay. i just hope the their staff there read my post here and know that we were really disappointed with all the lies about no room etc. you shouldnt do that way and its your hotel problem anyway, we're not paying for problems.

for the location is quiet good, near the beach, but the price is overprice compare to other hotel around this area if you see the service and room, standard bathroom very small, its around 130 x 130 cm for shower, basin, and Closet, and the door cant be locked. this is the smallest hotel bathroom i ever see. wifi also no free in the room. and a bit noisy because a bar right in front of the hotel.

wont stay on this hotel again, hate the service and lies.

Stayed for 6 nights in a Superior Suite. At first we were put into one of the ground floor rooms which absolutely reeked (Room 107) of cigarette smoke and was in need of a good coat of paint.

Straight away spoke to staff who immediately relocated us to the first floor (Room 204) which was great. They did not seem surprised we asked to move so make sure you ask if you are put into a room which is smoky. If I sat next to the window with it open could pick up the free wifi from the restaurant which was a bonus. Room was very spacious and well worth the A$85.00 a night we paid. Breakfast at Drops Restaurant was also very nice, this is one of our favourite restaurants in Legian. It is so close to everything, including short walk to the beach, will definitely return next year, and will request room 204 and one of the ones next to it. Staff were also very, very nice and helpful. Airport transfers are included which also saves you some money.

Room Tip: Request First floor rooms, not ground floor rooms
