“Great end to our honeymoon”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

This was our last stop on our honeymoon and was a perfect place to wrap up our trip. The hotel is set back from everything but easily accessible to everything Kuta. We spent 2 nights at the Stones and had the opportunity to enjoy the pool and various other amenities. The brunch at the restaurant is not to be missed. Hey have everything from fresh juice to ice cream available.

Thank you very much for your Trip Advisor review.

Due to the romantic nature and setting of the hotel and it’s nice to hear that we were part of your marital bliss experience in Bali.

Please do allow me to clarify the brunch that you mention is actually our breakfast which is open daily from 0630hrs till 1100hrs at the Stones Kitchen. Great to hear that you enjoyed the spread we placed for you daily!

We really look forward to welcoming you back for your anniversary next year and thank you so much for your review.

Perfect hotel, probably not best for kids at is quite subdued. The breakfast was the best I've had, with proper cappuccinos included. The juices were fresh and lovely. They even had icecream and other lovely deserts. The staff were very accommodating for a late checkout, merely mentioned it and it was done til 2pm. Checked out the kids club which looked great, but I would think that other hotels are more family friendly as there were hardly any kids there during out stay. Loved the bath and the complimentary bath bomb and bath salts. The bands and the saxophonist were great, lovely to listen to either on your balcony or around the pool. The bed was super comfortable, unlike most Bali beds.

Thank you very much for your Trip Advisor review.

It's a delight to hear that you enjoyed our sumptuous breakfast which is now on the forefront of popularity for our guests.

It's great to hear that the kids enjoyed Club Jasper and a lot of it has to do with the Talents that delights the kids and ensuring that they are occupied during the time spent there.

Thank you very much for your review and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Bring someone you love to make the most! We returned for our anniversary after having spent our last anniversary here last year. We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe room pool view with a deep wonderful tub on our balcony. TIP - spend the little extra for this room / view because the small amount you spend will heighten your experience so much more!

Woke up to soft light through 2 pairs of sheers, the aroma of illy coffee from our coffee maker, and a relaxing soak on our balcony in a gentle sea breeze.

The security is welcome piece of mind given past events, but once through you don't need to leave if you don't want to. Ample hammocks, huge shallow pool with adequately staffed pool bar and wait staff, never a shortage of good quality / kept lounge chairs and cabanas for longer lounging, and a more than ample selection of quality and proudly prepared and displayed foods for brunch!

The hotel is just a short walk to the bustle of Kuta, but set in from the road. Lounging by the pool or on the balcony or in the restaurant there is enough open space that is naturally secluded to make you think you are surrounded by the quiet fields of Ubud.

Beach access from the driveway of the hotel is a 3 minute walk literally, and despite what I've seen on other blogs, in this area of Legian, even during this peak season, the people are friendly, the beach is clean / maintained, and the water is as clean as a sand surf could be.

New restaurants near by provide a great selection if you don't want to walk into Kuta where there are numerous options from coffee bars to Asian pubs to Trattorias. The Beach Walk is a good place for name-brand shopping and eating.

Staff were very hospitable, sincerely generous and seeking to please at every opportunity before you even ask. Professional and proficient - obviously well trained and devoted.

My wife and I were well taken care of and were free to enjoy each other. Family friendly too with facilities big enough to allow for relative peace even with a mix of children and adults. Turn down service is a nice touch to help demonstrate continued service.

TIPS; Deluxe room, pool view - small additional price, big difference in the quality of your stay!
Be aware, toilet / WC / CR facilities are positioned in the front entrance of the room and separated from the living area by a curtain - therefore there's a diminished amount of privacy from humble necessities: not a deal breaker though! Ask for and depend on only Blue Bird Taxi Group if your cabbing it. They have an ethics code integral to service - always use meters, and have never let us down or left us concerned.

To Mgt: might be a good idea to organize occupancies so that groups and families are in a different area than couples. Wonderful and caring service and quality. Thank you!!

Room Tip: Spend for the little extra's because they will make your vacation - Deluxe room pool view. The r...

Thank you very much for your Trip Advisor review.

It's a delight to hear that you enjoyed your second stay with us and it's great to have you back!

The room with the pool view and with a higher price always serves to be the popular choice with all our guests and we are glad that you enjoyed the accommodation experience.

It's a good point to take note on the separation of couples from the families and corporate groups. We appreciate your feedback on this.

Thank you very much for your review and we most definitely hope to have you back on the third time!

Love at 1st sight before I booked the room from the internet.

I like the security check points at the hotel, the bath tub outside the room, csv was gd from everyone, gd food, clean everywhere.

Steps away to the beach, walking distance to Beachwalk shopping mall..away from the mass crowd.

We have just returned after a 5 night stay at The Stones @ Legian. Our flight to Bali was slightly delayed, so we didn't arrive at the hotel until after midnight.
When we arrived, the reception staff were wonderful, and very welcoming. They brought "magic towell wipes" and frozen fruit icy poles which were very refreshing.
Check in was smooth, although our travelling friends did have a room which had a strong odour, and were promptly moved to another equal room.
We had booked a poolside King room with a spa/jacuzzi outside the room. A fantastic idea, but we didn't use it, as it the water was too cool for us, with no heating. I guess during the hotter months they would get a lot of use.
The room itself was more than big enough for the two of us, with a huge king bed and comfortable pillows. Bathroom as the entrance to the room was different, but we had no problems with it, and the rain shower was very impressive. The supplied toiletries were also of good quality.
My one room gripe, (and yes, if you have read all of my other reviews, there is always one, :/) was that the mini fridge was not cold....Warm Bintang just does not cut it in Bali. I think the room air conditioning would be as cold as the fridge. Surely this should be rectified.

Breakfast was brilliant, as others have noted, and yes, I did have to try icecream once. The other choices were amazing and the staff were very attentive to any needs or issues.
The pool was very nice, large and although fairly busy, there never seemed to be a problem finding enough sunlounges for 4 people.
The hotel location was great, just around the corner from Melasti street, and directly across the road from the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shopping close by.
Hotel security seems to be fairly tight, with everybody entering through a metal detector, and bags xrayed. Not too sure how alert the "sniffer dogs" are out by the road, but it looks like they are trying to do the right thing.

Our stay was great and I would not hesitate to stay here again.(#167/159)

Room Tip: Groundfloor, poolside are nice. Spa/jacuzzi's are not heated.

Thank you very much for your review.

It's a delight to hear that you enjoyed the Stones experience.

The Premium pool rooms with the plunge pool have a temperature set at 28 degrees and it’s a normal guideline for hotels or villas that has a plunge pool in Bali. I do agree that it tends to get cold but certainly believe that during the present hot period of Bali, it's a nice feature to have in your room.

The sniffer dogs are from the Denpasar police and are trained to detect any detonating devices. This is part of the Marriott standards for hotels in Indonesia.

We are currently working on the minibar fridges in the hotel and we certainly do apologise over this issue.

Thank you for your review and we look forward to having you back with us again soon.

At first was a little hesitant of staying here since we were close to Kuta. However we were 2 families of 7 and got connecting rooms with plunge pools. Great idea since kids liked it... Fabulous swimming pool and set up. Clean beach in front.
Why I didn't give it 5 stars
1. Kids club can be definitely improved with more activities... Add kids slides/playground
2. Have dedicated umbrellas on the beach
3. More fogging for mosquitoes

Will still recommend for families with small kids

Room Tip: Plunge pool rooms are the best... Don't take a non pool facing room

We loved it the first time when we were at the stones last year May 2013 for our first wedding anniversary & planned again to go back for our second in early June 2014:) we felt right at home !!!

We simply love everything about this hotel but specially their customer services & management rocks :D Breakfast buffet is so delicious, the chefs are great & the servers are so hospitable & polite. As a dessert lover I simply indulge into the freshly baked goods. I so wish I can work in their kitchen as a baker one day - hopefully soon :D

The rooms are clean & spacious, bath tub in the gallery is a very unique idea & we love it .... The swimming pool is amazing & you can easily relax there for hours & hours, we never missed the beach view for a split second.

Over all it was a great week that we have spent at the stones yet again and look forward to returning back :D
