“Better than expected”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

We recently stayed at the Jayakarta Bali, 1 bedroom apartment with a 2 year old. The hotel is old and requires an upgrade but the rooms were still in clean, good condition. The pool area was fantastic for children. Very kiddy friendly. The hotel is situated in a great location surrounded but good restaurants for Australian safety.

Room Tip: If you have small children, the apartments offer a lot more room especially if you need a cot.

My wife and I spent two weeks at the Jayakarta Bali and found it to be satisfactory (not excellent) in most areas. Our room was comfortable and the balcony (we were on the second floor) overlooked the gardens. The breakfast buffet was good but, by the time two weeks were up, we were hoping for some variation. The three pools were excellent and, since the Legian beach was not that attractive, we spent most of our days beside the pool when we weren't touring. There was a scramble every morning to get towels on the chairs under the five or six canopies available around the pools. A few more canopies would be a good idea. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There are many good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel but the beach and district around the hotel were a disappointment.

Room Tip: We asked ahead of time for a queen bed and upper floor and got what we asked for.

On the beachfront. Great pool and gardens. That's why we booked.
Should have looked at rooms. Very dated and very dirty. Unsettling!

Will not stay here again. Unless they update it and work at cleanliness in rooms.

We stayed here again after previous trips this was a huge let down. Stnaff were unfriendly and not helpful at all. Room was tired and in need of an upgrade, although the bed was very comfortable. However people were coming back to resort after a night out and swimming in the pool at stupid hours of the night and nothing was done by staff r security. The breakfast wasn't anywhere near the quality or quantity that it used to be and they're really catering more to the Asian traveller. Over all very disappointed with our stay and although the location is fantastic I will never stay here again

i stayed in two hotels when i got to bali, Jayakarta was the second destination i stayed at for 5 days. I read the reviews and they all had excellent feedback, but when i arrived here, they weren't as good as the first place i stayed (Pelangi, Seminyank).
We were given welcome drinks when we arrived but they didnt give us any information about what services are provided in the hotel (eg: tour bus, wifi, service desk). We had the Superior room, and it wasn't as clean as i thought it was, there were strains in the sink, and the complimentary water tasted a little different then usual (was sealed).
The room service food was shocking, very overpriced and tasted horrible. My boyfriend and i both got sick here (bali belly) from eating their complimentary breakfast every morning, so be careful!!!
However, the hotel had some good benefits too, the staff were always smiling and greeting, the pool is amazing, they have a swim up bar. The location has markets outside and located near the beach with some beach restaurants (sitting on bean bags- right side, facing the beach).
Overall, i didn't like this place, i wouldn't stay here again, it didn't feel as clean compared to Pelangi.

I am staying at the Jayakarta Hotel again - the 15th time over the years - and as always its very good.

I have tried other places - but always come back to the Jayakarta.

We stay in the 1 room apartments at entry of resort.

As always the staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is good and the location on the beach makes it good for morning walks.

It not 1st class and if your after modern rooms and flash bathrooms - go somewhere else

If you want a nice relaxed holiday on the beach and are happy to stay in older but still clean and tidy rooms - then the Jayakarta is a safe bet

This is a review purely about the grounds as we stayed in a privately owned apartment in residence a. I stayed with my mum and aunt for 6 days and I we all loved it. The grounds were lush and green, the pools were clean and never over crowded, we always managed to get a lounge chair no matter what time of day, the location was great and the staff were helpful. I had 2 issues with the hotel - one being the refilling of good at the buffet breakfast and all the 'local' men who parked cars and scooter on the footpath between the hotel and the beach. We tried to enjoy the lovely shady terrace overlooking the ocean but after 5 minutes of rude gestures from the men we left. We have stayed at the Mandira and legian beach before and the path in front of there hotels is free of cars and people loitering. It's a shame the jayakarta isn't the same.
