“Fantastic Resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2010

What can I say but what a wonderful place to stay. The accomodation was wonderful, staff fantastic, food incredible. We have three children and it suited all there needs. If you can make sure you get a room that allows you access to the Garden Club. The Garden club entitles you to free drinks, afternoon tea and free cocktails between 5-7 well worth paying the extra money to receive these benefits. We had a fabulous time. We also stayed at the palengi resort for six days prior to the padma, the palengi was not so great.
Would highly recommend the padma to anyone and can't wait to return.

My daughter and I had our holiday away from the guys! Wow! The resort was extremely well serviced and the facilities were beautiful. Our room had two double beds. The balcany overlooked a fish pond where frogs and Siamese fighting fish were prolific. The room was well serviced and maintained to a high standard. The breakfast each day was spectacular. Everywhere you went, service was excellent. Food and drinks might have been a little expensive by comparison to "the outside", but then, it depends on what you are looking for. On our last day, we had the works at the day spa - fabulous. Do we have any gripes? The only thing we would say is that our room was separated by a door to the next one. Our neighbours chose to crank up their TV on heavy metal music until the wee hours - yuck. They moved out and were replaced with a woman who threw up at 5 am, (yes, we could hear that too) followed by a screaming/rampaging kid until we gave up on trying to sleep. Management might consider isolating accommodation for adults only. Aside from these little annoyances - a fabulous first trip to Bali. Thank you Padma.

Dear Valued Reviewer,

Greetings from Padma Resort Bali!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us for your first trip to Bali Island. I’m glad that everything, especially our staff services, were up to your satisfaction.

I’ve looked into the noise problems of our guestrooms and have tried to find ways to make our rooms a bit more “sound-proof” for our guests’ good night sleep.

Nonetheless I appreciate the constructive review. Hoping to have you and your whole family staying with us again on your next trip to Bali Island!

Best regards,

Great food, friendly staff, great pool and the location is perfect. Only issue, which you may encounter anywhere, was an adjoinging room of people who returned from the nightclubs at 3 am (three nights in a row) and continued to party for several hours. We were in a Lagoon View Room and be warned the noise comes straight through the interconnecting door like it does not exist. All the hard finishes in the rooms (tile floors and hard walls) also makes the noise travel.
On the third night after an hours noise we did get the pleasure of listening to the neighbour vomiting at 3.30am - at least this was soon followed by silence!
We would stay at the Padma again but NOT in a Lagoon View Room due to this experience and three bad nights.

We absolutely loved it here. We wanted a place that was child friendly (for our 3 year old son) and Padma was the place.

We stayed in the premier room with garden terrace in the newly renovated wing, all lovely and new. We heard very little construction noise, which was a concern when we booked but they had completed most of the work in and near this wing.
I like the internet access and free wi-fi in the main lobby / cafe.

We loved having the choice of pools, the newly open lagoon pool that was only a few meters away from our room. We spent our first few days lazing around that pool and then the large main pool. Great little pools for the kids. My son just wanted to spend all day there. We always manage to get 2 sun lounges especially at the main pool. However I did notice a lot of towels on the lounges and no people (this occurred at the lagoon pool frequently). This is one thing that I didn't like. They claim they monitor this but I did not see it happen. It wasn't an issue at the time as we found some lounges (I think the resort wasn't busy). The pools were quiet.
Great pool side service.

We utilised the kids club some mornings so we could go out shopping on the streets. Very difficult to get around with a stroller, and we couldn't travel too far on foot with a 3 year old. He was great when we went out for dinner and shopped for a little bit in the evening.
Back to the kids club...at first I found it difficult to leave him there but by then end of our trip they knew my son's routine and what he liked. The staff were very caring but did need some directions at first. We left him there some mornings for 2-3hrs so we could have some us time. Very handy indeed. I think this made my holiday my enjoyable. The kids club had a great out door play area, the only problem it had no shade cloth over the playground and it was too hot for my son to play on. The manager has fedback to me that they will be installing a shade cloth, let's hope it's soon.

My husband said he was in heaven when we went to breakfast for the first time. So much choice.

Overall we liked the location, very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. It is a great place to go with a young child.

We stayed at the Padma for 2 weeks in August which was our third stay at this Hotel. We had read reviews of noisy construction works and outbreaks of ilness on TripAdvisor beforehand and therefore arrived with some trepidation.
Our concerns proved groundless as the standard of the Hotel was first rate. We were given a recently renovated room in the garden club which had internet, large flatscreen DVD player, satelite TV and a huge bathroom. When we discovered the air conditioner was dripping via a light fitting into the bath we were moved immediately to an eqiuvalent room upstairs without any fuss whatsoever. The customer service manager was always helpful with any little issue.
The Garden Club is outstanding value and the staff friendly and attentive.Breakfast is the day's highlight in the Bella Rosa Restaurant with the stunning views of the blue ocean.
This year things have improved as lattes/cappucinos are included there with breakfast.
This year the hawkers have moved awayf rom the private road between the hotel and the beach so its much more pleasant sitting in the gardens overlooking the beach. The gym is first rate. The Hotel is a great haven where you can go outside and shop in the nearby streets or simply relax in the beautiful gardens and pools. Only downside is the poolside chairs where people put out towels at 7am and then don't use them till much later. Should be a 1 hour policy! Construction works are going on to build a capark near front gate and fitting out reception centre but had no impact on outr stay.
We will certainly be returning for more Padma next year.

We are here at the moment, sitting outside our Lagoon Access Room, feet in the water, drink in hand. The pool closes at 9pm and is watched over by staff or security. There has been no noise at all around the pool. This is the perfect holiday situation to be in. Rooms are brilliant, food fantastic, everyone helpful and friendly. What more could you want !
Some renovation still happening with a new car park, but far enough away not to be a nuisance
Well done Padma.....

We just got back from Bali, staying at the Padma Resort for 5 nights with 2 young children (4 & 6) and had a fabulous time. The resort is not something we would normally pick as it is HUGE, but it was such a good location and we figured with 2 young kids who want to spend hours in the pool, it would be perfect.
It was.
Simply gorgeous gardens, excellent service, beautifully appointed rooms (and clean!) great amenities, good size pools, scrumptious breakfasts, good food (delicious pizzas at the sunset bar). Oh, and heavenly massages. It's in a good location, just a few steps to the beach (good surf) and in the middle of Legian so short stroll to cafes, bars, restaurants and shops
We were a little worried about the previous reviews re noise etc, but the new lagoon pool and reception area are now finished. There is some construction as you enter the resort grounds, but this can't be seen/ heard from the rooms or any of the public areas.
Some negatives:
* It was quite expensive, but I think the old "you get what you pay for" still very much applies.
* The Premier Twin Room looks very spacious on their website, but isn't in reality. There is hardly any space between the 2 beds (they call them queen, they look like doubles) which makes it feel a bit cramped (it does have a small balcony though). We didn't really stay in the room much, so wasn't such a big deal
* As mentioned, the resort is huge, which can make you feel like 'just another number'. We were there during full occupancy so there were some short queues at the breakfast buffet (for eggs cooked to order and at the toasters) and we did have issues with people leaving their towel on the lagoon poolside chairs to reserve them for a few hours. Very annoying if you need to share 1 chair between 4 people because others are selfish enough to claim a chair for hours without actually using it. This wasn't an issue at the big pool though
