This was our first trip to Bali and we were pleased that we chose the Padma as our home away from home. I travelled with my 2 daughters (aged 12 & 14) so location, security and comfort were high on the agenda. The Padma Legian as all reviewers have said in previous posts is a fantastic, well organised, family friendly and perfectly located resort. Staff are very accommodating and always had a smile on their face. The breakfast buffet was huge and catered for all and even though we didn't stay for any of the themed dinners, we had many a lunch/snack by the pool and the food was always delicious. The mango smoothies at the swim up bar were devine! We ventured out most nights for dinner to many of the cheap eateries nearby and I have to say our favorite was the "Indo National" and also had a few nice meals at "Drops" in Jl Padma. We had a deluxe room in the hotel section on Level 2 at the rear of the property and although the room was very well appointed and very comfortable I would suggest if you are a light sleeper like myself maybe consider staying in a chalet. We had noisy neighbours next door and above that decided midnight and 5am were an ideal time to make noise. The construction site is near the lagoon pool but certainly did not cause any disruption to us during our stay and we spent most of our time at the Lagoon Pool. The beach is directly out the front and was very clean during our stay. We didn't swim there as it was quite rough but a little further up towards Seminyak it was an ideal swimming spot with lifeguards patrolling. Overall we had a great time at the Padma and hope to return again someday!

Room Tip: If you can afford the upgrade to a chalet I would recommend!

3rd stay at the Padma and the quality has not diminished. Great breakfast choice, excellent service, large rooms, fantastic position. For those with young children added value, kids club is one of the few that start at 2 yrs of age and 2-3 yr olds have their own separate program to older kids. The kids club staff are not only friendly and interactive but very astute to kids that maybe unwell or not enjoying themselves. Have stayed at many places in Bali but you cannot go past the padma for a great family experience.

Room Tip: ground level rooms are better for those with young children

We have travelled to Bali several times over the last 20 years and have stayed at various hotels. This was our first time to the Padma Resort.
The rooms are large and comfortable, the service is great, the buffet breakfast is sensational good for the holiday waiste line) it is ideally located for the shoppers. The tepenyaki night was well worth it.
The staff are one of the greatest assest they have and always helpful.
I would definitely recommend the Padma to Bali travellers however it depends on what you want from your hotel and how much you want to spend, if you want the authenitc Bali look and feel then maybe try somewhere else, if you want to add some western comfort, this is well and truly up on the list of of places to stay.
Our only down side was the noise from the construction that is currently going on near one of the pools and the computer system crashed right at peak hour when everyone was checking out .....

We have been to Bali 21 times and have always wanted to stay at the Padma .
Booked in January a garden chalet through Flight Centre and where looking forward to staying here .
On arrival we where told the garden chalets where all booked out and we where put in a deluxe room and where told by reception staff that we would be given $50 US per day for the inconvience of the downgrade to use on food and beverage .
At no time where we told about the construction noise close to the room which happened 8am to 10pm every day .

Positive aspects for our stay where .

Great location
Terrific gardens,pools and pool bars
Food in the restaurants wher first class
Staff where always helpfull
Allowed a late checkout to 630 pm free of charge as we had a late flight
Rooms very clean and bed very confortable
Well run gym with modern equipment

Room Tip: Check on construction areas

We have travelled heaps of time to bali over the last 20 years and have stayed at many hotels but this was our first trip to the Padma Resort and it was the best. The rooms are great (deluxe chalet) the service is great, the buffet breakfast is to die for, they even have homemade jams/lemon curd. The staff are great. We ate at the tepenyani restaurant and that was excellent.i could not fault this resort. We will not stay anywhere else on our next trips to Bali.

Room Tip: Deluxe chalet are great rooms, our room overlooked the wonderful gardens,

We have just returned from our first trip to the Padma. It is a great hotel including the gracious staff, wonderful gardens and facilities. Next time I would probably choose a lagoon view room (*2) for a family of 5 as the patio would provide an additional space for 5 people. Friends of ours booked a premium room with large balconies as well as a second room for the children to sleep in with a connecting door. I would also choose to add on club benefits next time. I have to say the breakfasts are amazing and the food excellent overall. The cafe is a great option for dining if you prefer to stay at the resort for dinner. The theme nights are also great - the kids loved the Roast theme night (so did my husband and I) and the Italian theme night.

It was easy to change money at reception and the rate was competitive and convenient. The staff who organise days tripe are very helpful. Between 2 families we hired a 7 seater car to take a few of us to Ubud for half a day - whilst the cost might be slightly higher than organising drivers privately, the drivers for the resort ony focus on your planned day trip rather than on-selling other activities.

Padma is close to Seminyak if you walk along the beach. We had a great time and also loved the pools! The beds were amazingly comfortable!
