“A truly magnificent resort!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2011

I have been to Bali 5 times and have stayed at many resorts however I always find myself comparing all the rest to the Padma. I have decided that for my future trips I will ONLY stay at the Padma. The staff are magnificent and nothing is too much for them, they are polite and curtious and very rarely do you pass any staff member without a nice big smile and a pleasant greeting from them. The rooms and pools are delightful with the grounds to the resort being something that must be seen to be believed. To meth Padma is my home away from home, if you want to indulge on the best then give it a try! I will definitely be back!!!

We stayed at the Bali Padma for my 40th birthday. Was greeting on arrival in our room with a birthday cake - a lovely gesture. The hotel gardens are simply stunning - lush gardens, amazing gigantic koi & the pools are fantastic. The breakfast was simply the best - I am gluten intolerant and along with a range of gluten free bread, scones and muffins, the chef would make up fresh GF pancakes upon request and this was more than enough along with their amazing range of fruit. We would have a lazy, late breakfast and then not need to eat until dinner time.

Only problem was our room was right next to Padma Street, so we got a lot of noise from the traffic until late at night and the Wifi reception was terrible. IT guy spent over an hour in our room (lovely guy who tried his best) but we just couldn't get reception most of the time(even tried outside our room) and had to end up sitting in a hot spot in reception or take the laptop out and find Wifi free restaurants. We kept picking up the wifi from the hotel next door instead.

Would def stay again but would prefer a better positioned room - for $257Us a night, thought it was a little steep for what we got.

So much to say! This was our second trip to Bali and our first stay at the Padma. We stayed in a deluxe lagoon view and although the room was beautifully renovated, it was however a little small for this length of stay with two adults and one 9 year old. Would definately choose the Garden Chalet next trip. Every thing about this resort is great. Loved the Deli for fresh sandwiches/cappachino and loved the location to shops and beach. The Bella Rosa Retaurant is amazing! If I had to come up with any negatives it would be that although the ladies in the kids club and the hours of operation are great, there does appear to be a lack of activities for the older kids..definately room for improvement there. Also, this is one of the only resorts that don't offer a free computer access room, so would like to see this initiated in the future. The only other thing that was a negative was so many loud people from WA! Unfortunately nothing Padma can do about that!

Room Tip: If travelling with children recommend Gdn Chalet.

We loved our stay at the Padma!!! We stayed for 5 nights (18 April - 23April) with our children, aged 5 and 7.
We found all the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. There are 4 pools - 2 kids pools (quite shallow) and 2 large pools. We spent a lot of time around the pool and it was very relaxing - no noisy groups and plenty of room to swim. We stayed during the school holidays and it did not feel too busy. The gardens are fantastic - very beautiful with lots of sculptures and fish ponds.
The breakfasts are amazing - the best selection I have ever seen at a resort. Lots of variety for kids and adults.
Our room was very nice and thoroughly cleaned and serviced each day.
The Padma is a great location - close to plenty of eating options, transport options and shops. We only ate breakfast in the resort (because it was included in our package). There are numerous restaurants nearby which are significantly cheaper than eating in the resort. I would particularly recommend Seaside (on the beach front, north of Padma, about a 5-10 minute walk).
We thought this was a fantastic place to stay and would highly recommend it.
Also - When tried to book to stay at the Padma, through our travel agent, they told us it was full. However we were able to book directly on-line - it turned out it was only the travel agent's allocation that was full (they didn't mention this, when saying it was full). So if your agent tells you it is full, I would recommend checking on-line. I think the price was similar, and transfers and breakfast were included in the price.

We had a wonderful stay at the Padma with our 12 month old daughter. The 2 pools and beautiful grounds provided plenty of exploring opportunities for her. She loved spotting the fish and squirrels within the hotel grounds. The staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a ground floor chalet which was spacious and clean. The breakfast was great, lots of variety and catered for toddlers too.We will defo be back some time soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a non joining room for extra quietness

We stayed at Padma in late April. I was impressed by the reviews and photos I had seen- but was even more impressed when I got there. We arrived early around 6am, I was travelling with my partner & my sister's family who have 3 children. Usually check in is at 2pm, however when we arrived the rooms were ready for us, which was great. The hotel surroundings were gorgeous, by far the most stunning gardens, architecture and sculptures - possessing a very zen like feel. During our stay, we stayed in the lagoon access room, lagoon view room & my sister stayed in the premier room. the lagoon rooms were exactly the same, new, modern and well kept, only difference is the lagoon access has stairs from your terrace straight into the pool . All rooms were very nice! The hotel is in a great location, close to shopping, on the beach and near to great restaurants . Much better location than hectic kuta. Don't worry when you are lazy, just call room service, the food arrives promptly in around 15 to 20 mins is yummy... The Japanese restaurant in the hotel was delicious, they have a japanese buffet where you can eat tepanyaki, cooked infront of you, sushi, sashimi, dessert & alot more. We went for a massage everyday at the nearby SukSema Spa & Massage. Nice, clean and cheap. Super friendly staff, better massages than Australia for around $9AUD an hour. The hotel staff were always helpful & friendly, Norman at the front desk was great. You can eat breakfast at a few restaurants in the hotel, the international breakfast is the largest, in my view the best, as it has the most variety. The breakfast in the garden club lounge was also good, offering salmon florentine etc & great view of the beach. The garden club room benefits were good, free cocktails, food , internet etc - it can get a bit crowded during 5-7pm when the free cocktails are served. I read varying reviews before I went, but am really happy that I stayed at Padma and paid a little extra. The security is great, you will always feel safe. You won't be disappointed, my partner & I are planning to get married in Bali & will definitely be staying at Padma!!!

Room Tip: Go straight to the hotel website, book early
