We had a one bedroom apartment and it was a fantastic choice for us as we were travelling with two children 20 months and 2 months. The Lounge room and balcony was completely seperated by a door so it meant we could relax, eat, watch TV or sit outside whilst the children napped on the bedroom. we even had a second toilet off the living area so we didn't have to go in the bedroom. Another highlight was the huge and very comfortable bed. The grounds in the resort were beautiful and the pools a great temp. Only negative wad that the position of the kids pool at the end of the lagoon pool meant only a few loungers were close by and these were always taken so it was difficult to sit and keep our stuff close by the pool whilst the children were in the water.
We had club benefits with our room and found them useless as we were not allowed to take our children into the club at free cocktail time. That was fine for our 20 month old ad he could go to kids club but I was not leaving a 2 month old in a kids club and we weren't even allowed to take her in there at this time. We also didn't find we got any personal service or other benefits from having this club access. It came with the room though so I guess we would have chosen that apartment with or without the benefits. Overall we really enjoyed our 7 night stay and would go back again, but would book direct and seek out special prices as I am sure we paid more than we could have.

The Padma Resort Bali is a very large establishment with the grounds and buildings maintained in excellent condition. Our room was on the 4th floor of the new wing overlooking the Lagoon Pool and we couldn't fault it. Sure, the Padma is a bit more expensive that most other accomodation in the area, but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. Breakfast is fantastic with biggest spread and variety I have ever encounted. Secuirty is good but not intrusive. The only small downside was that the beach immediately at the back of the resort was quite dirty and was not at all inviting. Yeah, we didn't bother to swim there.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for!

Thats how we would describe the breakfast! I cant understand OzMadmax saying that it was boring...There was nothing boring about it. Everything was offered you could imagine and everyday new things introduced. We have travelled and stayed in many Hotels/Resorts and this had to be the best breakfast EVER! Where did he eat breakfast? . The quality of the food was great and fresh even down to room service. Bella Rosa Italian Buffet was amazing, my husband going back of few times to the sweets table and the chocolate fountain! (Me To)
We happened to book a pool access room and we were lucky to have one on the end so it was quite private, but in saying that when you book at a 400 room resort of course you are going to have people around all the time and some noisy at that, so you put up with that, , your on holidays just enjoy the beautiful surroundings, which they were at the Padma. This is a family friendley resort as well as a resort for couples. The gardens were absolutely immaculate and the entire grounds were spotless.
Another thing I must say is that this is the first place we have stayed where we weren,t woken up in the morning by the cleaning going around the resort, staff very efficient and quiet, they even dry off the persplex patio roof every day.
Staff that worked in hospitality, gardens, pool, room service, all wonderful. The only slightly negative was that the reception staff could have been a bit more friendley considering they are front of house!
BUT we have no hesitation in recommending Padma, whether we were just very lucky in our 10 day stay but everything was exceptional so hopefully we can enjoy the same hospitality when we return (AND it will be to the Pool Access Rooms)
Can we just add Please try the Pearls Resturant (French) Jalan 66 Seminyak at the Pearl Hotel. Only been open 2 years. Out of way but absolutley amazing. Young Chef Jeremey sends out exceptional food, you have to experience it , especially the tasting sweets platter.
Give it a go if you appriciate good food and Jeremey takes the time to come over to his customers and have a chat. Good luck with Pearls Jeremey!

Good luck

Room Tip: Book well ahead if you want pool access/ popular!

We stayed here in Feb 2011 for 5 nights with our children. I have been to Bali over 15 times and this is definately my favourite resort. The rooms are gorgeous, with the biggest bathroom I have ever seen! The gardens around the resort are so beautiful and well maintained.

The food was fantastic, and the service was impeccible.

The pool areas are great. With a lovely little childrens pool and huge freeform pool. Plus another large pool near the beach.

The location is great, everything you need is just outside the resort, shopping, restaurants and little convenience stores at your fingertips!

I definately recommend the Padma!

We could not fault this hotel and it's staff....great pools, comfortable spacious rooms, magnificent gardens.... everything we needed or requested was not problem. The staff at the hotel were the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encounted on any of our numerous trips overseas. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, suits all ages.

Stayed here for five days with husband and eldest son. We upgraded to a Chalet room which was huge and so comfortable with our own little garden and terrace. The staff at this hotel are amazingly good (full points to the HR training team) , the gardens are a dream, the food quality is excellent, the pools are very well maintained and sparkling clean. I would recommend this hotel to the most demanding of guests. We cant speak highly enough of it. Will certainly return.

Room Tip: guests with children go to lagoon pool

The hotel staff are very accommodating and polite especially with families with young children. I have a 17 month old and they are so friendly with him. The only comment I would make about this age is the cot they supply is more like a bassinet/cot its quite small and my boy could not turn around in it. Plus not to Australian safety standards where he can stand up and climb out if he so chose. I hired a portacot from 'Bali Baby Care' and they are so prompt in delivery it only took 30 mins after I called them.
Awesome breakfast - they do pretty much everything you could think of.

Room Tip: Chalets are really well spaced and good sizes
