“Can't beat this location in Legian”

Just spent two incredible days in one of their beach bungalows and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We felt like we were in an oasis just off the wild noisy tumble if Kuta, and it was great. Hanging at one of the beautiful pools or the beach bar felt wonderful. Hotel meals were good, and presented very pleasantly by the attentive staff. Even the prices were reasonable (albeit it high for Bali standards). We had an incredible meal at the teppan restaurant (it must have been at least five delicious seafood specialties) with a wonderful waitress (I think her name was Purisati). It cost $100 for the three of us, but a very memorable last meal in Bali. Highly recommend it!

Only negative was our particular room. We booked through expedia (they wanted a copy of the actual booking receipt) and then they put us in the bungalow farthest from the beach and pool and closest to the busy road in front of the hotel (bungalow 33). We never had hot water in our bath and the noise from the road was pretty loud at night until about midnight. Didn't mar our stay, since every thing else was great, we would just ask for a different bungalow at booking (stay away from road (which means book direct with the hotel).

Would definitely return for a visit, now that we're better informed. Plent of places to eat in Kuta outside the hotel; we just had two days left and wanted to relax.

From the moment we got there, we loved it! This was our first time in Bali and Legian Beach Hotel was a great place place to stay. It had a really relaxing atmosphere and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be going back soon......and can't wait!

Room Tip: We stayed in a garden bungalow which was lovely and private.

Beautiful hotel grounds, loved being so close to the beach. The staff are friendly and caring. I was surprised on my birthday with a cake at breakfast with the staff singing me happy birthday. Amazing buffet breakfast, loved the pancake and waffle station upstairs, great view of the beach sitting upstairs at breakfast too. Beautiful lagoon pools, the pool bar was great. We stayed in a superior limited view room and it was clean, and good value. We were right on driveway but not too noisy. Next stay, we've booked a garden bungalow. Restaurants are very nice and the food is fantastic, prices are a little expensive but for the great service and food you won't mind paying. Can't wait to go back for our 1 year wedding anniversary!

We stay at Legian Beach Hotel for 10 days from 9th June to 19th June 2014. We had garden Bungalow room which was OK I thought it would better but it was OK. The staff were very friendly. They surprise me with a birthday cake on 11th and the staff sang happy birthday to me at the breakfast table which was a lovely surprise. Thank you all for this lovely surprise. The grounds was lovely and was kept very clean. Breakfast was excellent you had so much to choose from each day. Not to happy about all the mosquito in our room. Overall had a very nice time at this hotel

In short, I would not stay at the Legian Beach Hotel again and would not recommend it.

We booked a "superior family room" which was over $250AUD per night and for this price range, we were expecting something fairly decent. We opted for this room as it was basically two rooms in one which allowed two couples to sleep separately.

On arrival, we were allocated a room which was on the ground floor in the back block - right next to the entrance. Immediately opening the room, it had a terrible smell of mould; was dark and filled with mozzies! We went back to reception but was told the hotel was full capacity and nothing could be done. We were upset but given we had only booked for two nights set off for the pool area. Heading back to our room for the second time, our key cards did not work. I looked up online if any other rooms were available in the hotel and it was showing a fair amount of availability - armed with this and the non-working key cards, we went back to reception.

Luckily, we spoke with the customer service manager Balinda who was extremely helpful. She moved to us to another superior family room just a few rooms down. This room didn't have the smell which was an improvement but the glass windows did not lock so we had to keep dark wooden windows closed the whole time to make sure our belongings were locked inside. Upon locking the windows, it was evident mozzies had taken up residence inside the window frame.

For the price we paid, the hotel was extremely disappointing. I now wished I had listened to the other reviews.

Yes, the hotel is in a great location but I would recommend going across the street to the Pullman for accommodation.

Our room was especially filled with mozzies - I countered over 9 mozzie bites from the first night's sleep on just one of my knees! I found the pool areas to have a lot of mozzies as well.

I think this hotel has definite potential if they just put the money and effort into it and their staff members get a bit of a revamp.

I also tried the spa here which was lovely. However, I thought it was rather silly that the happy hour "50%" off was before midday and all other times had "40%" off. A pedicure at AUD$80 is expensive even for Sydney - no way I would pay that in Bali. I think their menu just needs the prices in line with those places around the hotel and get rid of the "40% off all day".

All in all, if you are willing to pay the money we did, do not stay here. I have stayed in better hostels for a quarter of the price.

Before I forget, we did eat at one of the beachside restaurants which food was great and cheaply priced although alcohol is still overpriced. Ohhh and we had a infestation of cockroaches in our bathroom!

Pathetic hotel.. Staff is rude. Hotel is overpriced. The hotel is in a shabby conditions and the rooms are small and bad. the The entrance is dark and deserted. Could not bear staying in the property for more than 2 days so checked out despite having a non refundable booking. There are much better options nearby.
