This hotel is an older one with room and bungalow accommodations. We stayed in a bungalow, garden view, which we though was good and comfortable. The grounds are well looked after and the two pools are good. We enjoyed the beach side bar pool most days and the beach lounges overlooking the walk way and beach area.
In comparison to the Padma the pools were smaller, rooms not as new but I still enjoyed the location of the bar pool better than the Padma. I like to look around and over to the beach, at the Padma both pool locations are boxed in with no view, except the hotel and rooms.
The breakfast is good, not the variety of the Padma but everything you would want and an added bonus of the pancake/waffle section, plus great views overlooking Legian beach.
Staff were great very helpful, as usual in Bali.
The location on Melasti Street is great, allot of bars and restaurants in any direction and plenty of spa places. The hotels spa was wonderful if you want to pay the prices. Your just around the corner from Padma Street.
All up I could not justify the extra $500 the Padma would have cost for the same 5 days accommodations.
I did notice that the Mandira opposite the Padma and next to Legian Beach was having the front lagoon pool renovated, this might be one to look at when that pool is finished.
Over all if you want large pools, modern accommodations (doesn't bother us you only sleep in the rooms) extra touches then maybe stick to Padma, Legian Beach is good value for money in comparison.
