My sister & I stayed here for 4 nights after a 6 day yoga retreat so it had a lot to live up to. The location is right on Legian beach. We stayed in a garden bungalow which was adequate. If we were staying longer I would have chosen a beach view. The food wasn't as nice, the service by the pool was great but the satay sticks hard & chewy & the Gado Gado not enjoyable. The hotel very central so plenty of nearby places to eat. The pancakes & crepes with fresh cream & at least 12 choices of syrup at breakfast on the 2nd floor was delicious !
Overall the grounds were lovely, it's on the beach, & central to Kuta & Seminyak for shopping & Dining.

This is the only hotel I have stayed at in Bali and my review is based on comparison with very similar seeming resorts in Thailand. I'll also add that our stay was only for one night.

Firstly, the resort looks great. It is beautifully landscaped and the alfresco dining and lounging areas facing the beach are also very well done. The two swimming pools are also very nice with plenty of space.

The garden bungalow was clean and fresh although a little dated in terms of furniture. It had a kind of pointless entrance area which just seemed to be a waste of space but the outdoor verandah and seating were great for relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning totally up to the job. Our bungalow, number 1, was immediately adjacent to the busy main road which runs past the edge of the resort and also forms part of Kuta's nightmarish one way system (our taxi ride to the hotel from Seminyak took nearly 90 minutes as to get to the resort from that direction it is necessary to go around the entire one way loop!) - surprisingly though the noise was very well subdued and not an issue at all.

The major negatives of this resort for me were service & breakfast. Our checkin was chaotic & frustrating...and it was not busy at the time. I stood for around 30 minutes as I was passed from one staff member to another as the person looking after me left to answer the phone and just never came back. Confusion seemed to reign behind that desk! Staff were very poor at explaining things...the wifi, pool towel cards etc. I had a lot of problems using the wifi in bungalow 1 but phone calls to reception were never returned.

A lot of reviewers have commented on the renovated breakfast area. Personally, I found the main part of the restaurant to be pretty uninviting. When we arrived on Sunday morning there were plenty of free tables in the non smoking section but all still had not been cleared from the previous guests...so we ended up sitting in the smoking section. In summary, the food was not good at all. There was plenty to choose from but the quality was simply not up to the standard of similar resorts I have stayed at. The dim sum were particularly sad!

There were a couple of stand out staff who were doing a great job service wise but most just seemed to be going through the motions.

This is absolutely the type of resort we like to stay and to be honest I would probably be willing to give them another go for a longer stay hoping that it would be a bit more polished next time.

Room Tip: Go for a garden bungalow...the more expensive 'beach bungalows' offer no more.

This is the third time i've stayed at this hotel. The rooms are immaculate sheets are changed
daily and beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style, accommodating western and asian cuisine all you can eat.
Hotel grounds are a delight to walk through and the 2 pools areas and clean and relaxing
with plants and water features.
Staff are friendly and other travellers I felt were refined - didn't see any bogans here.
Outside the hotel to the left you are in the hub just near garlic lane yet inside the hotel is very
tranquil. Keep in mind about the rooms with no view.

Room Tip: Pay extra an get a room facing the gardens in the main block, if you don't you look onto a concr...

great for young family, could do with more daily hotel activities but in general its close to everything pretty much a private beach lovely staff delux room is fine I think a villa would be better for us next timeas with kids, loved our stay, definitely use the hotel transfer rather than dealing with price of a taxi

We stayed at the Legian Beach Hotel in April 2012 for 7 gorious nights after a work collegue recommended to us (she has been staying at the hotel for more then 20 years)

We chose a garden bungarlo to stay in and it was fantastic. It was clean, neat and tidy and in a very quite spot.

Gorgeous grounds (trees flowers etc) surrounded us and the pools are stunning (spotless)

The staff are lovely and made you feel very welcome to the hotel and Bali in general. The staff were only to happy to assist you in any way they could (great places to eat and activites / sights to see and do etc)

The hotel is within walking distance to fantastic shopping, cafe's and restaurants and great day spa's

We just love this hotel and plan on staying there agsin with kids this year

Book this hotel, you won't be disappointed!

I have stayed here before and loved the location.
The upgrades are fantastic beautiful sparking new restaurant. Breakfast has an extra floor with beach views just for pancakes and waffles. I actually looked forward to sitting there because it was just so nice overlooking the beach.
Beautiful new spa for your fav treatment.
General facilites fantastic, beautiful umbrellas everywhere with coordinated colours, table cloths, flowers all changed daily.
Nice swim up pool bar which I like. In really good clean condition being it is quite a few years old.
The staff go above and beyond.
The rooms are a bit tired but spotless. (but you dont spend your days in your room) Garden view bungalow, fantastic verandah overlooking the stunning gardens.
This is my fav. Will defs be back.

Room Tip: I personally love the Deluxe Garden bungalow.

My wife and I stayed there from March 14 -17 for our 1 year anniversary as our first stop in Bali before moving to Nusa Dua for another 4 nights. We arrived at 9am to the hotel as our flight arrived early in the morning to Bali. We were well aware of their check in time and was fully prepared to hang around the hotel by the pool or roam around the area a bit. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They offered to check us in early and even upgraded us to a bungalow room. This was a nice surprise, however bear in mind the rooms are indeed a bit dated but are extremely clean. Later in the evening they send us a flower arrangement and a welcome cake. My wife was pleasantly surprised. We liked everything about the hotel from the well kept garden grounds to the pool and fantastic view of the beach from the dining and bar area. All staff from reception to the ground keeper all showed their true balinese hospitality with smiles and greetings from everyone. The only gripe was the breakfast provided, the selection were basically the same everyday and the selection of fruits and salad was virtually non existence. Overall we enjoyed the pool and the area as it was much quieter than Kuta.
