“Lovely little hotel”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

We stayed at the ananta for 7 nights with our two teenage boys. We had connecting rooms which opened out onto the pool. The rooms were large enough and always clean and neat. The pool was a good size with a swim up bar but it was a bit cold, not getting much sun during the day. The hotel was in a good position with shops and restaurants close by. The sandwich shop switch was right on the corner of the driveway and this is a must for lunch. The breakfasts were lovely with pleasant friendly staff who were always welcoming. The only issue we had was not being able to drink your own beers sound the pool, having a staff member tell us we needed to pay a 50 percent charge of the hotels beers if we wanted to drink our own beer. This was the first time we have had a problem with this in bali, especially as resort prices can be a bit expensive once taxes have been added on. We did enjoy our stay though.

We stayed in Ananta Legian Hotel for 8 days. Me and my husband we're so amazed how pleasant, helpful and friendly the staff in this hotel especially INTAN, NADI, JULI, TYA, KADEK and NOVY. (unfortunately, I forgot the name of another staff in the reception area :( ) They made us feel so welcome! Our room was cleaned everyday. Room service was quick and breakfast was awesome. It is strategically located near double six beach, many shops and restaurants nearby. The only issue we have here was the Wifi, aside from sometimes its very slow, you need to log in all the time not one time logging in like other hotels which was quite annoying. If we will go to Bali again and decided to stay in Seminyak area, for sure we will stay in this hotel again!

Ananta Legian is located down a one way street very close to Double Six. A 5 minute walk will take you out to the beach. There are many little warungs and cafes located nearby for meals and lots of shops available for shopping.

The deluxe rooms were a little bit smaller than expected. Enough for one double or two single beds. Views are of neighbouring buildings as you walk to your room but from inside, all rooms face the pool. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

As the hotel is about a year old, everything worked as it should. Wifi access was strong throughout the property. There was a reasonable spread of Indonesian and the usual bacon and eggs sort of breakfast. Fresh fruit was in good supply.

Suggestions on making this hotel even better:

1. put more clothing hooks in the bathrooms so that people can hang up their clothing there.

2. increase the amount of lighting above or near the work desk as there is very little light available for working on the laptop. The desk lamp is very dim and other than a very bright down light near the door, the rest of the room's lighting depends on the bedside table lamps and one desk lamp.

3. have more power points or a power strip near the desk as most people now travel with more than one electronic device. I had to unplug the desk lamp so that I could get a power point to connect my laptop to. There is one power socket in the bathroom and one more near the bed.

Access to the hotel is terrible during peak hour traffic (4pm to 8pm, Mon to Sat). As it is situated off a one way street, during peak hours, if you're in a cab, you can get stuck on that long one way street for up to an hour. You may be much better off walking to the main street to hail a cab.

So schedule your arrival and departure times to take this into account. There is very little traffic on Sundays so cab travel on Sunday is easy.

Traveling to Bali to Catch up with a group of friends so we all decided to book into the Ananta.
It was new and looked good in the photos. Rooms are very small. once you open your suitcase you have to shuffle to get past.
Bath room clean no bath.
we had booked a Deluxe room on the ground floor with pool with pool access. Any one could walk past and open the sliding door in 2 seconds flat.
To get to the pool you had to squeeze past people laying on deck chairs. no room to walk around.
There was a shortage of deck chairs. the hotel was at only 40% capacity and some days not many chairs if any left. Although we had pool access no chairs outside our door.
The breakfast buffet was great, heaps to eat and staff very friendly.
Location is i a pretty quiet area except for the goose farm over the back when sitting around pool.
Short walk to the Beach down Double 6 road.
Great little laundry straight across the road.
As others have mentioned if you wanted to have your own drink corkage was outrageous prices, however your room was to small to be able to have a drink in with others.
Wi Fi access around property but typically Bali very slow.

Wouldnt rush back.

We stated at the Ananta for (4 nights) in June and found the hotel to be very pleasant. The hotel is only 12 months old so everything is nice and clean, the rooms are a little on the small side but the bathrooms are very nice, unfortunately there is no balconey on the upper floors, but the ground floor rooms have a sliding door which enters out to the pool area. The most valuable asset at the Ananta would have to be there staff who are very friendly and speak very good English, breakfast at this hotel is excellent with a very wide range of foods. The location is really great with many great restaurants along the beachfront from Mozzarellas to the Blue Ocean, Tekor and Lanai. There is also a very honest money changer just across the road from the Kumala Pantai, which is just around the corner from the Ananta, he sits outside the Internet shop, where you can also get your washing done.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with sliding door entering to pool area.

It was our eighth visit to Bali stayed at the Ananta for 10 days with 13 other family & friends.
on the fifth night at 2-2.30 Am someone actually entered our room we called out whos there and the door closed. I got up and went to look out the door but they had gone. The next day between 8.30am and 4PM our lap top computer went missing from inside our room. The staff generally did not care, told us they would check the Tv monitors but obviously there isnt any in the corridors or they would know who came into our room.We didnt get any offer for the loss of our laptop not even a drink or free phone call (dont use the phones $30 australian dollars for three calls about 15 seconds each and didnt even get through ) and yes we did pay.The staff are generally nice but we felt someone there had taken our computer so couldnt trust them.
The pool drinks are expensive and its a 50 % surcharge for Byo ,there is no where to have a drink outside your room we had a pool access room but no pool access so could have had some chairs outside.Breakfast was good and beds were comfortable rooms small but clean.
Overall would not go back as security obviously was a problem
