The Aroma's of Bali Hotel & Residence
Ranked #85 of 88 Hotels in Legian
Reviewed October 10, 2012

we stayed at this hotel on 6th Oct'12. we booked at residence 2 bedrooms. the rooms are clean and there also a sofa bed in master room. we have problem with the water heater so we have to move room. not really convenience though. and at the 2nd room our problem is with the toilet that cant flush. the bed was not comfy :( but the aircon work well. there's fridge, stove, and water dispenser in the room :). oh, the wifi quite good, no complain about that hehehe.. i can download faster. the staff are nice and always respond fast if we need something. the breakfast, i didnt try that because my friend said not good. the location is at Legian Street where you can hang out, party, eat, shopping, only walking distance. also theres short cut to the beach from behind the hotel via benesari street.

Room Tip: choose the room downstairs or near the pool

The hotel room was better than expected. Very near to EVERYTHING.
- The food for breakfast is great
- There were mosquitoes on the first day, requested for mosquitoes repellent and the staff responded fast
- Room service is available everyday
- Hotel is safe and secure. Security is available 24/7
- Room is clean
- Hotel is at Legian itself and 3 minutes walk to Sky Garden ( great place to party), walk a bit and there is a food stall that sells seafood, 2 minutes walk to spa and near to arts market
- Use the shortcut and you can go to the beach in less the 5 minutes
-Basic necessities were met
No complains!

Room Tip: - Request for ground level room

One and only good reason for this hotel is the location, near to shop, nightlife, restaurant and kuta beach.
The bathroom have unpleasant smell, no towel rail (it forced you to hang the towel at doors handle), water heater can't work properly.
Breakfast is terrible, they only provide 3-4 menu, the taste was bad.

We were booked in at The Aromas for 4 nights, my understanding was that this was a new hotel no more than one year old,the pool area looked lovely and from the outside the hotel looks quite new, I figured that it should be ok,

Upon arrival we were shown straight to our 2 bedroom apartment even though we were early. The room was tiny and the smell from the bathroom was disgusting, we requested another room and we were moved next door which was identical minus the smell. The bathroom was large but resembled a disabled toilet, the shower had no partition or curtain and nothing to stop the water flooding the room. There was no towel rail and no space to place anything apart from on the floor, nowhere to put toiletries etc. The towels were left on the dining table, a pile of odd coloured, old, and worn looking towels. The freezer was coated in several inches of ice and clearly needed defrosting. The living area was extremely small and uninviting.

I made the mistake of paying for my stay before looking at the rooms. We did not stay even one night at this hotel, we found another hotel, same price 100 times better and in a nicer location. The hotel staff stated that they would refund my money (except one night cancellation fee), but it would take one week for the bank to process.

I have stayed in many hotels in Bali, most of them 2-3 star, I rarely stay in resorts, I have never before felt the need to cut my losses and run.

The hotel room is big and it is apartment like. For some reason the linen is not white but cream but evenly so i don't know if it is their color of choice or it happen overtime. The staff very rude. The room is smelled. The bathroom also smelled, big but you can't hang or put anything. The pathway to the hotel is dark and creepy dangerous. We should stay for 2 nights but decide to bail on the first night. Don't stay here please. There many nicer place with the same rate

I was ready to stay only for 1 night out of the 5 nights booked after reading various negative reviews in here, but I was so surprised when none of the negative experience happened to me. I travelled with 2 tweens and 1 kid, and stayed in the apartment room type on the 3 rd fl, facing the pool. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, the ACs worked, and it also has a sofa, a medium size TV with HBO and cartoon networks, fridge, a working stove complete with all the cutleries, plates, glasses and mugs should I decided to have a meal inside. We had a small problem with the flush in the bathroom, but the staff was quick on his feet and we didn't have to wait long for the maintenance guy to show up. The room was always tidy and clean whenever we got back from our day activities, nothing's missing. What more can you ask from a hotel? whenever my kids felt like snacking and felt like spending their pocket money, Lawson, circle K and M store were just few feets away. There were souvenir shops, surfing stores, lots of restaurants, bars and spas lining up the streets so residents would hardly ever need to leave Kuta. The hotel had a short cut to Kuta beach, the pool was awesome, all in all, even my cynic tweens truly enjoyed staying in the hotel.

Room Tip: Pick room S3C.

As we were able to book this with 30 minutes notice we expected it to be a bit of a dive, however it was great value and a really good location. There are LOTS of empty rooms which is a bit weird, but overall the beds are comfortable, the air conditioning works, you get a kitchen area, your own bathroom, there was some variety at breakfast and the pool area was superb.

The only problem came in the morning when families decide to use the pool area at 6am. If you are on the ground floor the noise is ridiculous. To be honest there should be time restrictions on a pool which is so close to the rooms.

They also let us have late check out for no extra payment!
Really liked this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get one that is not on ground floor!
