This is Our Second stay at Bali Mulia and this time we bought our two teenage kids. We booked the two bedroom villa and it was exactly like the three bedroom, obviously with one less room. :)

I said pretty much everything in my first review and nothing has charged. It's peaceful, quaint, relaxing, clean and nothing is ever a problem for the friendly, helpful staff.

Stayed here for the whole 9 days and used their Laundry service which was taken away and returned the next day for a minimal cost. this time we also discovered a petrol stand and excellent supermarket just a 2 minute scooter ride from the villa! Perfect for stocking up on drinks, nibbles and toiletries.

The kids found the Phone order service for McDonald's just awesome, & it was only a two minute scooter ride away also!

5 minutes from legian street, and our other favorite place to stay and eat (Sayang Maha Mertha) ill call this place my second home.

We will be back in May & hope our 10 friends we are bringing will want to stay here too!

Room Tip: We've stayed in both two & three bedroom villas and they are both excellent!

This place was great - only issue being it is a bit out of the 'action' and has a huge river separating the hotel from the 'heart' of legian. The location is a short cab ride to the best parts of seminyak & kuta. The staff are world class and friendly and no request was an issue. Would stay again for the luxury and privacy but not for the closeness to shops, restaurants, etc - overall very satisfied with our stay - thanks again!

Very nice villa in a good way to relax..
It was clean n spacious with a beautiful private pool inside.. A great pathway between the villas makes you feel like home..
Very friendly n helpfull staffs..
But the location is not so good, its too far away from convenience store if you need something or restaurant if you want to take different dinner or lunch.. But thats the villas are for, to keep you out of noise n relaxing..

Beautiful little villas & just a scooter ride from the hustle and bustle markets of Kuta, but far enough to get a little piece and quiet. Prepared brekky (included in rate) was wonderful to wake up to. It was a little cold but not a problem for the staff to heat up.

The villa set up is so quaint with three spacious, super king rooms each with their own bathrooms, shower over bath plus an outdoor style shower (also in the bathrooms to give that outdoor shower feel), open dining /lounge/kitchen, tv with DVD & tvs in each room.

Yes beware of the mossies (like any tropical location at night). My advice to those that moan about them...dont fall asleep on the coach at night, keep the bedroom doors closed, use insect repellant and buy some insect spray for the room (its a whole 25000 rupiah you misers!), use the mosquito nets on the beautiful 4 poster beds and you'll be just fine!

This place is highly recommended by the 7 of us that stayed here.

Ps- staff were very helpful and friendly. (If you are wondering why some feebdbackers complain that they may speak little English, let me remind you it's because you are in their home town where English is their second language. If you want fluent English speaking staff, stay in a hotel in England, NZ, Australia or America).

A BEAUTIFUL VILLA FOR A GREAT PRICE!

We stayed at the Mulia Villa’s in January 2010 for about 5 days in a 3 bedroom pool villa. Everything about the villas were lovely. Beautiful gardens, great pool, well-appointed and comfortable rooms, and friendly helpful staff.

The only negative was the location. Built in what appeared to be a relatively new tourist area we felt rather isolated. A few other hotels were on the same street but there were no restaurants, supermarkets or anything for that matter within close walking distance. The walk into Legian took maybe 20-30 minutes and while not a long walk, was a little challenging in places with no footpaths, narrow and busy laneways and a busy road with not so good paths. The lighting at night was poor and a little scary to walk. Perhaps this would not have been such an issue for us had the Mulia had an in house restaurant or room service but they didn’t so each time we wanted a meal we had to ask reception to call a taxi or walk into the tourist areas.

As a previous writer mentioned, the villa’s had television but no DVD players or in house movies and only limited TV channels so there really was not a lot to do other than swim and laze around the pool.

If you are planning on staying here then I would suggest that you get a card from Reception before venturing out as we had quite a few problems trying to explain the location of the villas to taxi drivers when returning from an outing. One way streets, narrow laneways and a river added to the confusion until we became more familiar with the area. An experience with one taxi driver left us feeling a little daunted when, after assuring us he knew where he was going took us to the wrong place and when he did not understand where we wanted to go, demanded that we get out of the taxi. By then we were also lost and had no desire to be left of the side of the road while he drove off. We eventually found our way back but not without a few tense moments and we made sure that we carried a card with us from then on.

If the Mulia are open to suggestions to improve people’s stay at their lovely property then I would suggest DVD players and a courtesy vehicle which does regular return trips into restaurants for guests wanting lunch and dinner. Perhaps even some menu’s from local restaurants who are prepared to deliver takeaways for the times you do not want to go out. This would have made a difference to our stay.

Would I recommend the Mulia to others? If you are looking for a couple / romantic or relaxation only getaway where you do not care if you don’t leave your room, don’t mind catching taxi’s whenever you want to eat and are happy to laze around the pool all day then you will enjoy it here. If not, I would suggest you stay a little closer to the tourist area.

Dear valued guest,

We are very happy that in general you enjoyed your holiday at our beautiful property. We understand that having our tranquil location, that made us not in a really adjacent to the crowd of seminyak. We will find our way to make more available options of transportation, so that you still can enjoy the perfect location with easy access to the crowd area of seminyak.

Regards

We stayed here for a week. The first day I was concerned that it was too far away from the main strip and in the middle of nowhere, but by day 2 we loved it. Cheap taxi ride to Legian or Seminyak for shopping or eating. Great pool, nice sized rooms and bathrooms. You can hear other people in their bathrooms as they are right next to each other, but staff are friendly, breakfast was quite good.

No English TV channels or wi-fi which was a bit of a pain, plus no DVD players, but made us enjoy the pool more.

All in all, was a lovely stay.
