Stayed for the first time at Bali Mandira. The hotel is lovely even with the construction of the new pool going on. To compensate the Mandira gave us complimentary buffet dinner vouchers for the duration of our stay & the food was great. We elected to have a Club Cottage room with I loved. Our room was situated just behind the lobby on the ground floor. Love the open shower and felt quite naughty every time I took at shower (and I did it often!). Our room was 311 which is ideally located. Breakfast was good. Room very nice & very clean. Staff very friendly. My only complaint is the speed of the internet. It is worse that modem and does not automatically connect so can get very frustrating. Other that that would stay here again and cant wait to see the main pool finished.

We have just returned from 10 days at the mandira. It was fantastic the staff were so welcoming and happy all of the time. Our superior rooms were clean and spacious. Husband, 2 teenagers and myself all had a great holiday with our friends, there were 24 of us all together and some stayed next door at the padma but we were more than happy st the mandira. The entertainment in the evenings was provided by local musicians and dancers who were superb.
The food was great especially the breakfasts where you could choose drone an extremely wide selection at the buffet with your eggs cooked anyway you like fresh to order. The top adult infinity pool with spa is for over 18s was relaxing and overlooked the building of the new pool complex which was interesting to watch, it also overlooked the sea. It was surfers heaven with perfect waves all day everyday with boards just $5 an hour to hire as you walk about 5m from the hotel onto the beach. There is also another family pool which has a decking area all around with sunbeds. All towels are provided free everyday. We went on some excursions which we organised with "Made" in the tourist office at the hotel he was so helpful at all times and you should visit him early in your holiday to plan water sports day, elephant rides, white water rafting and monkey forest visits. He can also arrange any transport you require. There are many local restaurants and shops to barter in and an abundance of massage parlours to pamper yourself. We also visited jimbiran bay for a seafood meal in the beach, and potato head to see a beautiful sunset. If you like football there were lots of young men in our beach keen for a game which suited our group and you could relax with a $2 bintang from sammys bar on the beach while getting your nails done or having a henna tattoo at the same time. Sylvia on reception was wonderful as we're all the counter staff, waiters, cleaners, gardeners, and chefs. The cocktails were inventive and there were regular happy hours. Everyone was always more than happy to help. When it was my birthday my friends arranged a surprise party at the hotel and everyone pulled together with bar staff, air con party room, dj, dancers, a band, decorations and a cake. A perfect night to end a wonderful holiday THANK YOU everyone!

This is a comparison review based on having stayed at many similary priced hotels on many occasions in bali. Unfortunately the Hotel did not present enough value for money especially considering the impact of the renovations being made to the main pool, yes the free dinner was provided but was really the most basic they could have probably offered, the temporary pool was ok at best but the problem I found was for the standard offered the "reduced price" on offer for what you get at a dated traditional (traditional is my preferrence) hotel did not match. The gardens are maintained beautifully, the staff were generally very nice especially in the main restaurant, however the rooms (standard) are not much better than those in some of the much cheaper beach front hotels (definitely cleaner tho') I'm sure if you were in a pool villa you would say they are divine, but you do pay for it. Our room had that very common strong musty smell and after a few days we asked to move as it was becoming unbearable this combined with nasty b/belly (I only ate at hotel ???) made us decide to change however they were not very helpful and expected us to pay a substantial fee to change to a room further away that offered little difference. Again I'm just comparing value for price, the hotel is fine the grounds lovely, good location-could do with more lighting on street between entrance and first shops-and the weddings we saw set up there were beautiful, but I would not return for that price to stay there in just a standard room. Also just a heads up as others have commented, they tried to get us to pay on arrival-our booking was definitely pay on departure, so they then asked for 50% deposit, we agreed to pay a deposit but on departure found they hold your deposit (if on card) well after you leave, it doesn't come off the bill on departure-deposit?? This was a bit inconvenient at best. Always love our trips to bali an enjoy trying new hotels but have to say bit disappointed this one didn't live up to our expectations or it's reputation.

Room Tip: go the villas otherwise try elsewhere

We originally booked the Premier Club Room, the people at reception were lovely and the welcome drink and cold towel upon arrival were very refreshing. When we arrived in our room, we were a little disappointed. The room was quite small and the furniture were dated. That night we decided to upgrade, which didn't cost us too much more, to a Junior Suite Club Room. We were then truly in heaven. The room was massive, wooden floor board, sofa, double basin, huge bath overlooking the resort and the beach, and even a bidet... The service throughout our stay was amazing. Laundry was really cheap. Cocktails in the club room were lovely. The only let down was the food, the selection during the buffet breakfast and dinner was very limited compared to other resorts in that price range. Overall, worth it if you're staying in a junior suite or above and we enjoyed our stayed there.

Room Tip: Junior suite or higher.

For our wedding anniversary we stayed for 7 nights in one of the cottages, definately worth the extra money rather than staying in the hotel rooms up the back of the resort. We loved the Padma (next door) for our last visit but unfortunately the prices have gone up so much that we couldnt justify it, hence we decided to stay at Bali Mandira as it was about half the price and we really enjoyed it.
The Adult pool was great idea if you are looking to get away from all the kids splashing in the main pool. The Main pool was definately a bit old and daggy if you compare to other resorts in Bali, but since our stay the pool has been under renovation and the plans we saw looked really nice!
Breakfast was ok, a basic buffet if you compare with other more expensive resorts in Bali, but in saying that - for what you pay to stay at Mandira, it was fine.
The lounges facing the Ocean are so relaxing to sit and have a cool drink, especially in the evening when they turn on the morroccan lanterns and play music. As my Husband loves to surf i had a nice time putting my feet up and watching him surf from here rather than on the sand with all the hagglers pestering me to buy their goods.
At the time i was around 4 months pregnant and decided to have a massage at the Day Spa and it was one of the best i have had in Bali, they were very gentle and clued into the whole "pregnancy massage" do's and dont's which was re-assuring for me as i had been told that it can be dangerous to have a massage in early pregnancy if the therapist didnt know what they were doing. Also another place i always go atleast once every 2nd day when i am in Bali is 'Cool Spa' which is about a 5 min taxi ride away in Seminyak, near Grocer and Grind (best Value for money Day Spa in Bali in my opinion).

Room Tip: Get one of the cottage rooms, but make sure its a ground floor as some of them have 2 floors.

My partner and I recently got married at the Bali Mandira Beach Resort and Spa. We and our guests had an absolutely amazing time. Almost all of our guests (approx 50 people) stayed at the Mandira and had nothing but positive things to say. I was a little worried about the pool renovations that would be happening during our stay but it didnt impact on us at all. They had other pools available for us to use and we were right on the beach anyway. The location is also great...a stone throw from the beach, walk out the front gates and you hit plenty of shopping and massage places, within walking distance to Kuta and also lots of bars and restaurants closeby.

We thought the staff at the Mandira fantastic!! All were very friendly and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure we had a great stay with them. Many were also willing to teach us some of the local language, which came in very handy and was a lot of fun while shopping and batering!

The food at the Mandira was also incredible and the desserts too good to refuse! We stayed in three different rooms during our stay (pre-planned because of the Wedding) and all were very spacious and clean. If you're willing to spend a bit extra, I would definitely recommend the pool villa..absolutely luxurious and very tranquil!!

I most definitely recommend staying at the Bali Mandira! We will definitely be staying at there again...hopefully for our one year anniversary!!

Great hotel, gave us a free upgrade to a garden suite room. and what a treasure it was!!! Great food, great location, nice staff. A little big (hotel size) for my taste, but beautifully kept and right at the beach. Also received a free late checkout so very impressed. Pool under construction but the temporary pool was perfectly fine. I'd imagine it will be very impressive when complete, couldn't hear the construction at all :-)
