Lovely friendly staff. Nice & Quite when you walk in from the busy street. Gardens are kept lovely. Very clean. Waiters around the pool are very attentive. Spa was expensive but really enjoyed the massage & beverages. Loved sitting around the resort and watching the squirrels.
Breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make me a herbal tea.
Overall we would stay here again as the hotel was clean, quite & close to everything and right opposite the beach.

Room Tip: Choose a villa to the back of the resort and not the ones on the main walking path

Our room wasn't cleaned fully each day. The photo of this dirt/hair on our floor was there for the 2 nights. The daybed in the bedroom was useless and a balcony would have been more useful in its place. Breakfast was good but service poor. The very small adult only pool didn't have enough lounges to accommodate all the guests and the hotel is down 30% occupancy due to renovations. First afternoon we could t get a chair in the shade so went to our room. There was heavy construction noises for 3 hours. We called and the manager said that no one else had complained!!! After investigating he gave us a food voucher for a soup, rice dish and fruit... Not really much for 3 hours of total headache .We later discovered it was the room directly opposite us

I love the location, on the beach, in legian, close to everything, busy, but a little oasis of quiet and calm. We stayed in a garden villa, average size room, big bathroom with a delightful indoor/outdoor bathroom which is the only stand out for the room, clean but unexceptional. Free bar fridge with the club benefits but first morning when room cleaned half the stock disappeared, and rubbish left on cupboard. Breakfast was nice. Really enjoyed the yoga (extra charge). Beach side lounges and bar were really nice and relaxing, pool looked nice but due to such mild weather we did not swim, not as big as appeared in photos. Over all overpriced and would not stay again for that reason, prefer some of the 3* hotels on the street, just not that much more for a whole lot more$.

Stayed at the Bali Mandira as we were attending a friends wedding and while the wedding event itself was stunning and handled exceptionally by the staff and management I would not recommend the hotel/resort as a place to stay.

We only paid for the base level room but at around $160 a night we were expecting better. Key frustrations included the following:

- Dirty bathroom and bath towels - The shower curtain was so mouldy and the bath towels were grey and rough
- Old uncomfortable spring mattress and lumpy pillows
- No nice view from the room so the curtains were kept drawn.
- Crazy pool towels policies! They were so strict! We couldn't get towels after 7pm and if we left a towel in our room we got warning notices about confiscating the towels from us!
- We weren't allowed to take plates/glasses or food from the lounge to enjoy in our room
- We weren't allowed to order-in or even bring on site takeout food from other restaurants.
- The light switches in the room were difficult to find making it frustrating when you wanted to go sleep
- The whole resort is currently undergoing renovations so during the day there was a lot of noise and obstacles to avoid.
- Poor sound proofing, was woken up many times by presumably drunken guests banging down doors and playing loud music.

On the plus side the adults only pool was great and given the strict no towels after 7pm policy you will probably have it all to yourself so just remember to bring your own towel! The location of the hotel was quite nice as it is right on the beach and there weren't many people flogging their wares out front so it was rather peaceful by Bali standards. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, despite being such sticklers when it came to the rules. The breakfast buffet offered a decent spread, catering to all.

We stayed here for 3 nights during September and it was absolutely outstanding. Great service, great food(including the free breakfast), great grounds(pool area and beach view) and great rooms. The staff were extremely helpful, sorting out an early breakfast prior to our early checkout and they dealt with the boat company we were having issues with on our behalf.

Would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Bali.

We attended (and paid for) a family wedding in the hotel. I wouldn't choose to visit Legian and nor would I go back but that says more about me and the other hotel guests than the hotel itself. This is a family hotel - although there is one pool for adults only (thank goodness!). It also rolls out weddings on a daily basis - 5 in the week we were there.

Rooms are clean and well appointed. We stayed in an upstairs cottage which was far better than the downstairs ones which had unrealistic 'outside' showers. The pool bungalows are also pretty, but fairly small. We also paid extra for the spa package which allowed us to eat in a separate, beach side breakfast area, afternoon tea and cocktail hour with a couple of massages and yoga thrown in. Whilst this is a great hotel, its not an amazing hotel, and in comparison to some others that we have stayed in, in Bali, we felt it was expensive.

Best bit by far are the staff, but this is cultural rather than the hotel's influence and the sunset beach bar with beds and big squashy cushions. Downsides - too much chlorine in the pools and only one shower to rinse it off and nightly noise from the regular weddings. A quibble on our bill over a $1 bottle of water (which we didn't have) as we departed, left a sour taste in our mouths but overall the experience was good.

Just got back from staying at this lovely resort, staff very welcoming and helpful, although the emphasis was definately on getting you to upgrade, had issues with noise from other guests, not the hotels fault but only remedy was for us to pay extra to upgrade so we could get some sleep, after some negotiation we were charged a fairly hefty fee to upgrade, considering we had paid the top price to stay there, we were not one of the lucky ones to get a deal, i have to say that once we upgraded the level of service was even better, shame the resort was glad we were given the club as an extra as not worth paying for the once we went for our free drinks (cocktails for one hour) there was only 1 waitress and we only managed to be served one drink. I would definately stay again but only if the price was right, i will definately price it when i book our twice yearly holiday to Bali
