Description: Barbacoa is dedicated to BBQ, wood fire, charcoal and smokey flavours. Our cuisine is Latin American based set in a large warehouse space with massive high ceilings with rustic wood, sandstone walls, mosaic tiled floors and vintage leather banquettes which is totally unique and warm in every way. Our chefs are passionate and proud of the food we serve. We use the best produce available to create delicious, unpretentious food using old and modern techniques. The restaurant has air conditioning inside as well as outdoor spaces over looking the rice fields. Our cocktails and wines are selected and prepared with attention to detail and can be enjoyed at the bar or at your table during dinner.

“Great Rib Eye”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

We were here the other day after coming back enjoying the beautiful sunset (as always) in Petitenget area and a friend of mine ask me to try this new restaurant for her. We order a rib eye and a roast pork. The rib eye was so delicious (I'm drooling now), probably the best I've had so far, and the roast pork although it's soft and taste also nice, but it's too oily for us. The waitress were attentive that anything we'd like to get, we won't have too wait for longer period. Only downside was that we were seated in the corner area, and it feels no AC to cool us down and some annoying mosquitoes. I would be coming back for sure, but I will try different seating area. Price is considerably affordable for westener but expensive for local. Will give it five star when the mosquitoes are not there anymore.

“The reviews are not wrong”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

We went following a friend's recommendation and having read the trip advisor reviews we were expecting something special and were not. disappointed. We did not arrive until late and received a warm welcome from the staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Great decor . We started with the warm chapa bread with roasted garlic and balsamic vinegar, yumm. The grilled corn, with chipotle mayo, cheese, smoked spice and lime was fantastic. The cuban pulled pork slider and battered fish taco were also exceptional. The fried cauliflower with cumin and chickpeas pine nits and raisins was also great. The slow cooked pork was excellent although some pieces were a little dry. Excellent decor and a must for anyone dining in Bali.

“Great atmosphere, worth a visit”
Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

All the food we ordered was very good. It doesn't have a wow to its food like a sarong May have, it's simple food done right. We had suckling pig, pork sliders, ceviche, octopus and desert platter. Would recommend the visit, would be a great place with a group

“Restaurant with a difference”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

It took us a while to get here because the taxi drivers have never heard of it. It's only 4 months old. The interior is just gorgeous. Air conditioned fully. We were greeted by very friendly staff and who asked us where we would prefer to sit. The menu was explained - all meals are shared meals be it between 2 -4 or more people. We chose a bread with dip for entree and the suckling pig for mains. Unfortunately something happened in the kitchen and they both came out together which we felt like we had to rush the bread so the pig didnt get cold. Cost wise - it's more expensive than the norm but then you are paying for the atmosphere. Drinks were the same price as home. Both meals were lovely but it was a shame they came out together. The waiter was very apologetic. We will probably give it another go when we return to Bali.

“Great New Restaurant”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Overall a fantastic experience. Firstly the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a simple slightly rustic feel that puts you at ease from the minute you walk in. You are immediately hit with the smell of roasting meat over coals this is the Asado of the day, and you can go have at look at it cooking before you order. In our case it was suckling pig and it was served on a plank and cut into bite size pieces deboned and topped with crispy skin , on the side was a punchy chimmichurri which complimented the perfectly cooked meat well.

We also ordered the Chapa bread with roasted garlic balsamic, Pulled Pork slider, Braised brisket taco and charred baby squid, all were perfectly cooked and seasoned with a common theme of big, bold flavours. The service throughout the night was seamless and impeccable, with staff speaking good English and all will a pleasant helpful demeanour.

The surprise for me was the fried cauliflower salad, it was delicious and a must order item. During our meal I did have a touch of menu envy as I watched dozens of plates of the smoked sashimi tuna leaving the kitchen, so we ordered that too! It is served with a glass lid, full of smoke that is whipped off by the waiter at the table allowing the smoke to escape in a woosh, adding a touch of theatre. The tuna was extremely fresh, and was complimented well by the smoked tomato, wafer thin slices of jalapeño and coriander.

My wife enjoyed the sangria, which was spicy, fruity dry and refreshing while I had a few glasses of Chilean red from the wine list which, while not the most extensive in Bali, has good variety and some good selections that are available by the glass.

After all that amazing food we finished by sharing the honeycomb ice cream sandwich which was a tasty and fitting end to an epic meal. The head chef and part owner Adam was roaming around the restaurant talking with diners and was more than happy to tell his story which I always enjoy,

This restaurant will be on the must eat list when we are back in Bali next, along with our other favourites Mamasan, Sarong and Taco Beach Grill, it is that good.
