“Very Happy”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

We got back today 20th November 2011 From bali. We stayed at Grand Balisani Suites.
We stayed at this hotel for our Honeymoon.
The service, staff and the cleanliness of the hotel is very good. Its a older style hotel but it is very clean and it has very beautiful views if you get a sea view room. The garden view rooms are also beautiful but the sea view room is nicer. There is contraction going on next door but we did not hear it as we where on the sea view side.
The room service was very good and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. They are all ways making sure you are happy. They have a (free) shuttle bus run every day at different times of the day. It will drop you into Kuta and a few more places around that area. The only down side is that they dont pick you back up . Its about 1 hour in the day away from Kuta but 20 min at night.
They have different things on every second night for dinner and entreatment. It was very good.
We loved the breakfast and it was very yummy. Its buffet its yummy with pancakes rice pork chicken and fruit and pasties. We also had dinner there a few nights and it was very good but they dont have a big variety of food if you stay there more then a week.
Its is very close to the beach very good for surfers. Its is very beautiful. There is also two pubs/restraints across the road and its very nice food and cheap drinks.
The swimming pool and swimming pool bar s very good. Prices are good.
The massage center gives very nice massages.
Over all it was a blast and i would stay there again. It was a nice place for a honeymoon if you dont really want to leave your hotel. If you want night life Kuta or Legion is the place to be.
They ran us a cold bath as it was very hot with rose pedals and decorated the bed with love birds for our honeymoon. Also after dinner they brought us a congrats cake for our honeymoon. Very happy.

Room Tip: Sea view room. Try to hire a driver for the day. Ask around. We got a driver for the whole day for...

Last minute trip to Bali and hotel chosen on price. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and breakfast was good. Only slight criticism is that there was no tourist information available in English or French All folders were in German which I sadly don't speak.

I got a good recommendation from friend about this hotel. I guessed he went there loooong time ago.
call directly to the marketing manager to book nice room, and I prefer quiet. and I mentioned the quiet word many times. hoping he understand. and he said he make sure is quiet.
when I checked in, my room AC was very noisy and old. Asked them to fix it (cant do anything about the old factor) but at least would love it if not noisy. wait for the technician to come< they're not even shown up until 15mnt, so I went to Front desk and complaint about it. and they gave me another room. which is the AC slightly better.

But what else I get is, that saturday night they got live band and very loud and noisy.
I wonder why the Marketing Manager who I talk to, not give me any information about "saturday night party".
i was really really upset. then I checked out from hotel, I asked for refund but of course no refund. isnt that amazingly awful... and not even apologetic face I get. it was herrendous. never ever gonna stay there again ever.

Stayed here 3 nights in March and loved it.
As I checked in my room was upgraded to a larger room, Kananga 3. Very nice, huge bed, huge bathroom, TV and DVD player.
Staff were great, food was great aswell.
They had traditional balineese food and dancing one of the nights.
Beach is just the other side of the fence.
Few shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The locals in Seminyak are very friendly, defenatly prefer seminyak to kuta.
Only bad point I can think of is a small dispute over mini bar, girl on reception was a bit abrupt.
Will go back.

Room Tip: Kananga 3 was great, best spot there I reckon. Try for this room.

Grand Balisani Suites is directly on the beach, the garden with swimming pool is separated, but looking out on the sea and the beach. Rooms are spacious as the whole place is.
Excellent breakfast is included. Nice and professional staff.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view on the beach have a nice seabreeze.

The hotel was great in terms of friendly, helpful and prompt service. We were pleasantly surprised that the staff took the time to chat with us, which made us feel very welcome. Since we meant to simply rest & relax for 5 days at the hotel, it was a boon for us that the restaurant provided tasty and reasonably priced food. At breakfast, the Jakarta post was available for us to read at our leisure.
However, we noted some areas that can be improved : many big mosquitoes hiding in toilet & cupboards; only rice krispies & cornflakes available for those who like their cereals for breakfast.
Still, we highly recommend Grand Balisani Suites.

Stayed at the Grand Balisani Suites for four nights. Overall, a great place to stay, with only two peeves (one minor):-

1) Food - usually one of the highlights of a Bali vacation, consistency of the food at the Grand Balisani Suites restaurant can be improved. I had the grilled ikan terringi one of the evenings - fish came cold, though the steamed rice was pipping hot and very fragrant. Next evening, I had the seafood basket - the squid was extremely tasty and well seasonsed. Portions are very generous though. I only stayed four nights, so it was ok, but the food quality and lack of options might have been a problem if I stayed longer and didn't want to venture out too much.

2) Minor peeve - the bed creaked

Otherwise, I liked the place for:-
+ Great location right by the beach, just 100 metres north of the W! Very nice to laze by the pool (which fronts the beach) and listen to the sound waves crashing against the beach. However, the beach is not suitable for swimming due to the waves, but very pleasant to stroll along the beach in the evenings and watch the very beautiful sunset.

I also liked that it is far from the main town area and away from the crowds. It's a 15-20 min car ride (a bit longer if there is traffic) to Seminyak. The hotel shuttle will take you at fixed times (you need to book in advance), and will drop you off at the heart of Seminyak (at the Bintang Supermarket). The shuttle can also take you to Kuta (drop off at Kuta Square). You have to make your way back yourself, but taxies are plentiful and all the ones I took all knew how to get to the Grand Balisani Suites.

It is also possible to walk to Seminyak (and Kuta) along the beach, but it is a long walk (I took 45 minutes to Seminyak). Pleasant if you are not in a hurry, and you get to gawk at the other posh villas along the beachfront (e.g. the W!). Walking in the other direction brings you to even more quiet stretches of the beach (e.g. Canggu where you can see surfers in action. There are small warungs selling drinks and snacks and other beach essentials (sarongs, sunglasses, hats, even kites), if you get tired of wallking and need a rest.

+ Breakfast - large variety, including "western" fare such as toast, muffins, crossiants, cereal, sausages, bacon, waffles, etc., and an egg station where you can ask for eggs any style. There is also asian fare such as fried noodles, fried rice / nasi lemak, even porrige with salted eggs!

+ Staff - Friendly without intruding into your privacy, they know when to approach and speak with you and when you'd prefer your privacy. I stayed there over my birthday and they sprang a surprise birthday song and even prepared a birthday cake for me. Very nice touch!

+ Pool - Very clean and of reasonable size. The pool also has a sunken bar area where you can sip on a cocktail or have a beer while soaking. As mentioned, the pool fronts the beach, so you can enjoy the sunset while soaking.

+ Dining options - At nights, an outdoor grill is set up near the poolside and the lawn around the pool transforms into an al fresco dining area. There is music and a bit of party atmosphere. On weekends, there are also live performances. If you prefer something more quiet, you can also dine in the restaurant which oversees the pool, where there is light music - there was a live band (guitar and cello), the night I dined there. There is also a row of about 4 warongs just outside the hotel along the beach which can be easily acessed.

In short, great if you're looking to chill out and want to be near the beach and do not mind being away from the main town areas.

Room Tip: Go for the suites if you can afford to pay the extra. The rooms (garden facing and beach facing) are...
