i have been stay in all bali area and get use to standard hotel , i will say when i was stay on this hotel plataran was the best time i had , nice private villa's and clean pools is perfect , the area not so turism place but nice to see some other part of local area and close to turist area like seminyak and kuta , they offering a shuttle bus to kuta beach or seminyak for free of charge wich is was great , well knows where the tourist stay will be there a taxi or transport service in around the place where you stay , and i was use the transport service in front of plataran , there a cars like minibus stay beside the road in front of hotel compare the hotel transport rates you can get cheaper there with just 1 minutes walk to out side of the hotel to find them , ask mr Putu , he is the driver hwo was drive for us there Cost only 50 $ USD with a big nice car toyota for 11 hours charter included petrol and driver , the local driver there was so friendly , arrange you all the think you need with cheaper price , they have alot of information wich is you can trusted , finally all the experience was great !
thank you plataran next year we wil be back .

This was our first overseas holiday & first major holiday in 30yrs!!!. We stayed at the Plataran Bali Resort for 10nights, it was truly the most amazing experience we have ever had. The accommodation was a villa with a pool, we had an extra large king size bed, a huge bathroom area plus our own 8 x 5mt pool. The grounds were beautiful, Balinese style, quite & totally soul rejuvenating!!! The restaurant was fantastic!!! we ate breakfast there everyday & had tea in the restaurant 4 nights out of ten!!! excellent food & service. The staff were very friendly & helpful which made our stay even better, we would definitely go back again!!!! Thank you again to the Plataran Bali Resort for a truly amazing experience!!!!!

Cannot say enough great things about this resort it is an amazing and beautiful Resort. It is spread over approximately 5 hectares where you walk through beautiful gardens and balinese statues and old doorways. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough for us. We were only there for 5 days but could easily have stayed a month. It was so relaxing and tranquil so it was great to come back to after being out in the hustle and bustle of the cities. The rooms are extremely clean and are made up daily. The bathroom is outside but it is so private that no one would ever see you. The king size bed was soooo comfortable. We stayed in a garden room with our own little balcony and day bed. I had 2 massages in the spa there and they were great. I truely recommend this resort for anyone who would like to have a true bali experience and would defininately go back to Plataran Resort the next time I travel to Bali

My partner and I stayed at the Plataran for a week. We have just returned to Australia, and already planning to go back next year. Where you stay in Bali, definitely makes your holiday. We loved the Plataran, with our beautiful private pool villa. The set out of the resort is perfect, with each villa having their own gardens, we rarely saw the other guests. The staff were so friendly, and helpful, everything was done for us. No matter what time we got home of an evening, our netting was put down on our bed, coils lit out in our private pergola and hand made chocolates awaited us. The Plataran is only about a $A10 taxi fare to Kuta etc and such a relaxing place to stay. The best things were our private villa, the beautiful staff (sad to say goodbye to them) and their food. We also loved how the resort is within a traditional village, and strolling back to it, we were always welcomed by the local people. We learnt so much about their customs and temple ceremonies. This helped us so much, in that we got to understand what the staff's daily prayers and offerings were about. This is important because the Balianese are very respectful people, and a better understanding certainly helps make your holiday. My favorite saying now is "the Bali way". We are certainly going back to the Plataran, not only is it get value for your money, it is just so beautiful. The most relaxing holiday I have ever had. They don't need to change a thing, the secret is they change you, it's the Bali way.

Room Tip: A private pool villa with your own private gardens

My husband and I stayed at Plataran for 4 days and at another villa for the remaining stay. The villas are lovely and big and the private pool is very luxurious, but the staff needs major training and the communication lines between staff and guests needs to be improved greatly.

We paid extra to be picked up at the airport, but the transport was twenty minutes late. We called Plataran twice and were told our driver was there, he was not. When he showed up there was no apology and just said there was a traffic jam. When we arrived to Plataran, we walked in the lobby and the girl sitting at the desk said , "yes, what do you need?" We were shocked and explained since we just got out of Plataran Transport with luggage that we were there to check in. She gave us a form and looked very confused. We asked if everything was alright and she explained she doesn't work there and the staff was all at lunch! That was completely unacceptable. Finally the staff arrived and showed up to our villa.

I was very nervous after such a rude welcoming, but the villa and the grounds are beautiful. We were given a 2 bedroom villa with a private pool at the edge of the resort. It was lovely, spacious and was decorated with traditional Balinese furnishings. The outdoor bathtub was a great bonus. We felt better about our situation and decided to book a massage to unwind. We booked for 4PM and showed up at the spa only to be told that they were busy with another customer who 'walked in'. We went back to the lobby and after many phone calls were told that yes we booked, but another couple walked in and took our reservation. They obviously have a major communication problem. We were very disappointed. We went out that night for sundowners at Ku Da Te which was absolutely fantastic and just what we needed.
Breakfast at the villa is good and the restaurant staff seems to know what they are doing and have a much better communication system between guests and the restaurant- they were always quick and the orders were tasty. We spoke to the manager the next day who was helpful and he gave us a discount on our massages, but we still continued to have problems.

*The villas are noisy as the roof and walls have a slight gap, we heard roosters every morning and pigeons: so bring your earplugs!
*We showed up one day to find the pool cleaners lounging on our sun loungers- they were not expecting us back so soon.
*The key broke off in the safe and the staff had the audacity to ask us to pay for it, it was not our fault they use an old key and lock system anyways.
* The WiFi service was archaic using a one hour scratch off card, but on the last day they started a 24 hour WiFi service so hopefully that is getting sorted out.

Make sure you bring the business card with the address for Plataran because every time we hailed a taxi in town, they never knew where it was and we had to give directions. Might be a good idea to learn the route as well.

The next villa we stayed at (Chapung) in Ubud, greeted us with a foot massage and a fresh herbal juice and their customer service was out of this world. Yes, it was more expensive, but I guess you do get what you pay for.

Bottom Line- good value for the villas which are lovely, grounds are beautiful, but management needs to train their staff, streamline their communication system and be around more to supervise.

I hesitantly booked Plataran two weeks ago as I was heading to Bali on a last minute trip and most places in Seminyak were booked out due to school holidays. As the villa was so cheap, when I arrived I was shocked to find that the pictures really don't do this place justice. The small villa resort is set next to rice paddy fields in a completely quiet and peaceful area. There are foot bridges, vegie gardens, a stream that runs through the resort and two pools for guests. Majority of the villas also have their own pool. I booked a pool villa but on arrival were given a two bedroom family villa. The villa was exceptional with a generous size pool, lounge and dining area outside. The rooms are huge and the beds were larger than king size and the most comfortable I have experienced in Bali. The food and service was also exceptional. I can't raver about this place enough for the price you pay. For relaxation and getting out of the hustle and bustle of Seminyak I would absolutely stay here again.

Room Tip: For the small extra fee pay to get a family villa for a larger pool and more open area for sunbaking...
