“Great hidden away gem.....”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

We stayed here on a deals voucher which was only $699 for 7nights in a private pool villa with breakfast daily,a lunch and spa vouchers...
The Villa was spotless, the staff very friendly and we enjyed a relaxing, romantic quiet time here..

The only negative is that "Yes" the road leading to the Resort is "Bad" more like a bumpy track, but once there it's a peaceful oasis in this normally chaotic country..We hired a car so the location was no problem and its only 10 mins to Seminyak....

The only suggestions that we would make is that they need a more extensive menu in the restaurant for lunch/dinner as the current one has little choice especially local offerings...and maybe a happy hour to entice people out of their villas in the evenings...
But well done to the crew at Lokha Umala's.....

Room Tip: None, if you are after a romantic secluded accomodation this is it :_))

We loved our 7nights . The staff were very friendly and the food was good. The Spa was very professional . We were very happy with the room .

The biggest problem is the road leading to the resort. It's a real bone shacker. I would not return until its repaired which is the only reason I have given a 3 star rating.

1st impression, road leading into property is super bumpy! NOT much view, enclosed villa, but beautifully enclosed. No shops nearby, so prepare ur tidbits, late nite snack b4 returning to villa tho u can always order Mac delivery in. Excellent and friendly staff, service is always prompt.

Paint to the Review of a member DLC2012 first: this is wrong, silly and agrees not at all with reality. only the street to The Lokha of Villa & Spa is a little bumpy but for this there is also an absolute here nothing rests. of also one hears the neighbor villas. the service is excellent, the kitchen is just as first-class I can complain about nothing . . . only one was incredibly simply week. or the lookout keeps offered each of the still other villas is alone guilty, this one a good one finds praising performance relationship for certain nowhere . . .

Room Tip: Book on of that villas and been happy for that time, more then before in your life

Good points:
1.Villa Rep. arrived punctually at the airport to pick us up.
2.Spacious room for two and the staff were generally friendly.
3.Food served in hotel was reasonably priced and tasted quite alright
4.Well spread of breakfast
5.Fast response when we called for room service
6.Massage was good

Areas of improvement:
1. There were stains of the bed sheet when we first arrived.
2. Minor overlook in their room maintenance. For example, there was no toilet paper and the detergent was left in e bathroom after they cleaned the room.

In conclusion, if you want to be away from the crowd, this is a good hide out; to relax and recharge. If you are not driving, please hire a tour guide to bring you around. As this is quite a secluded place so don't assume that all cab drivers would know how to go there. =)

Got the chance to stay in this property for two nights a few weeks back.
Got a good deal from a Groupon site.
The first thing that impressed me with Lokha Umalas is their quick response to my email...
Being in another country, correspondence via email is my only bet, so that is a plus point.
Upon arrival at Ngurai Rai Airport, we were met by the Vila's representative and off we go to their villa.
While the "rough road" issue is factual, I did not find it "uncomfortable" nor "unsafe" as I thought it was based on the previous reviews... I wasn't driving anyways, and the rice paddy view while going through the rough road proved to be scenic...
The road leading to the Lokha Umalas is shared by many other properties and it is not like it is in a middle of nowhere or anything.
The rooms were spacious and looked exactly like the ones posted on their website.
As per my husband and Father in Law, the free massage was good too.
I got the chance to order room service one night and it tasted okay and was reasonably priced.
I was just surprised that they charged us for a bucket of ice when it should be free especially on a hot and humid day upon arrival.
As for the cleanliness of the room, it was okay except that I noticed some smudges on our bed spread when we arrived...
Called reception immediately and they were willing to change it pronto (but I refused as my hubby and kid were sleeping that time).
I would love to stay here again in the future.
They just have to look more into some small details as they are already good as it is...a little improvement and upkeep would of course harm no one....

The villas were absolutely lovely and the infinity pool at the back was just gorgeous! I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it. The fact that it was off the beaten track just added to the relaxed atmosphere of the place. Service could have been a wee bit better but still, staff were all very pleasant.
