Reviewed June 17, 2012

Spent 3 weeks here in may 2012 with my girlfriend.

Linda, the owner, is a lovely person and runs a fantastic bed and breakfast. The staff is wonderful, the rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day. The rooms have comfortable beds, air conditioning, a fridge and a small bottle of water per day. The rooms and bathrooms have been recently renovated. The location is relatively quiet for South Bali. In some of the rooms you can still hear the traffic and the roosters might wake you up in the early hours of the morning. Bring ear plugs if you are a very light sleeper. I am a light sleeper and I didn't have any problems. At breakfast you get a choice between continental (eggs the way you want them+toast+jam+fruit juice+coffee or tea) and indonesian breakfast (fried noodles+egg+juice and coffee or tea).
The Kerobokan area offers many good restaurants within a short drive or 15 minute walk (there is a very good and inexpensive Warung, Warung Sobat II just around the corner from the homestay!) and the location is an ideal base to explore South and Central Bali and is a 25 minute walk to the beach. Note that the traffic is very bad all over South Bali, ask Linda to arrange a driver+car (approx 40usd per day as of may2012 for the day) or you can also rent a motorbike/scooter approx 3-4usd per day as o may 2012.

Linda gave us fantastic advice on what to visit and some brilliant tips that were most useful during our stay.

The staff are on 24 hour security duty so I always felt my belongings were super safe.

We did not use the pool, but the water looked nice and clean and the pool area is very nice+relaxing.

Only improvements I could see to the room: the fridge was a little noisy, but you can ask to disconnect it and the sliding doors would often not close properly at the first attempt.

A big thanks to Linda and her staff for the wonderful stay, we felt at home.

Room Tip: the room by the pool is probably the quieter one (I think it is number 4)

First and foremost I would like to say to Linda the owner thank you for looking after me so well. I was a solo traveller on this trip and safety is an issue when travelling alone. The homestay is away from the hustle and bustle and taxis were called for me whenever needed. The pool was a beautiful area, deep and sparkling and all things considering as the homestay is on a busy back road, pretty quiet. Good night sleep, good breakfast, and really good coffee. Two minutes walk takes you to a really good and inexpensive warung open for lunch and dinner. Last but not least lovely staff at Puri Dukuh. Thank You

LOVED the 6 nights that we spent at Puri Dukuh. Quiet and away from all the tourism, this is a magical home stay experience out amongst the rice paddies of Kerobokan. Only a short cab ride into Seminyak, it's the perfect place to stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean, with complimentary water and breakfast included in the room rate. The owners are lovely and extremely helpful in organizing drivers/tours etc. A quaint little restaurant Warung Sobat is practically next door and serve the most amazing food. They have a massive selection and even home deliver! Will definitely be recommending Puri Dukuh to anyone traveling to Bali!

I have stayed in 3 hotels while in Bali and while I liked the other ones, but this one was much quieter, smaller, more private and a more intimate experience. The rooms are newly renovated and the bathrooms are spacious without being obscene. The pool area is one of the highlights of this homestay and for one of our days in Bali we didn't leave the poolside (we would swim and then fall asleep in our chairs poolside and then we ended up playing cards by the pool through the night). Breakfast is either poolside or in the small dining area towards the front of the grounds and has a number of options to choose from. There is also a lovely and inexpensive restaurant next door for lunch and dinner. There is a "local security guard" who stays and keeps an eye on the grounds at all times so you can also feel safe while you stay there and anything you need help with they will do what they can to help. The owner is an adorable, tiny lady who went above and beyond to help us (woke up at 3 am to call us a cab to the airport and make sure that they didn't rob us blind and that they used meters). There are a few local cats who call this space home, and if you love animals they will come out of their hiding places with the coaxing of some food, but if you do not want to see them they stay away for the most part. Our time there was too short and I plan to return as well as send my friends there in the future.

Puri Dukuh is situated in Kerobokan, close to Seminyak. The hotel is a newly-renovated, small, home-stay style and was by far, the best place we stayed during our two-month holiday in Bali. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean and beautifully decorated. The private bathrooms were spacious, new and extremely clean. The pool and outdoor area was private, situated in a sunny spot and was nicely set out with sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as a shaded area with lounges and an open-air foyer. The view from the roof was lovely. Breakfast was excellent and always cooked perfectly. A lovely, quiet place among rice paddies and away from busy Legian and Kuta, yet only a short cab ride to those tourist areas. Shopping in near-by Seminyak was fantastic. The restaurant - Warung Sobat II, not even a minutes walk from the hotel had some of the best (and most affordable) food we experienced in Bali. The best part of our stay was the owners of Puri Dukuh - very friendly and they often went out of their way to offer us assistance and advice, which we found to be invaluable on several occasions. We highly recommend Puri Dukuh and will most-definitely stay there again when we return to Bali.

Room Tip: The two rooms upstairs each have a balcony and are a bit bigger - great if you like extra room.

Puri Dukuh, what a gem ! Rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully renovated, en suite bathrooms are of an excellent standard, the hotel is very clean, and service is impeccable. Breakfast is simply lovely, excellent coffee is served on request. Puri Dukuh is a place where you can experience Bali away from the commercial tourist zone, yet still enjoy easy access to shops, eateries, and more. Two minutes walk takes you to some of Bali's top warungs, among serene rice paddies. Highly recommended.
