I already went to this place a few times and every time it was just amazing. One of the best thai food you can find in this area and also the indonesian food is so great. The staff is extremely friendly and after the second visit they even recognized me and called me by my name. You will never find something like that in europe :) Compared to other good restaurants in this area the prices are really competitive. Definitely a place to recommend.

Cafe Degan a little over rated. Reasonable quality meal, very small portions when you subtract the large quantity of rice. We bought a pack of sweets at the attached bakery and this cost more than our meal so beware. We have hd better value and suggest the UGGA cafe.

We wanted a nice dinner and this was recommended by the locals. even for holiday standards (which means everything is slower and relaxed), the service here was extremely. slow. If you have a kid or you are hungry, it's best to be careful about Cafe Degan. Even on a not-so-full night, it took us around an hour plus to get our food. Your best bet is to order fried rice which comes around 30 minutes. The vegetables and dishes takes more than 45 minutes or so.

All being said, the food is reasonably good, and the service polite. But we probably won't be going back for some time.

We came for lunch to Degan's Cafe. Our 1st impression was "this is it!" But then we thought, let's give it a try. We ordered some food, which our friend recommended. All about this restaurant is great, the Bebek Goreng is fantastically tasty, the services close to perfect, but there's one thing needed is some more Air Cooler Fans in every corner. To help us relax and comfortable when having meals in Degan's Cafe ^_^

Amazingly great tasting food, every single dish that we ordered. They were cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, I will not go back to this restaurant. One of us brought an opened bottle of water, with only less than half left in it. The restaurant staff wasn't going to allow that to happen, wanted to charge us as it was considered "F&B from outside".
It was disappointing service, we were a big group, we ordered a lot of food, and we also ordered wine and beer. It seemed that the restaurant was making too much of a fuss over a very small issue. Then the staff became rude. We asked to speak to the Manager, the staff said the Manager had left. As we were just finishing food, finishing our chats, I noticed that the staff started turning ALL of the ceiling fans and wall fans off!! Yes, it was closing time, but the ethical way would be to tell us directly that we'd need to move on, we would've surely understood. Instead, they just made us feel hot in there, so that we'd leave their place right away!!
Last but not least, after we paid, there was a manager standing behind us. Apparently she was always there, knew and watched all of us, aware of what was going on, and yet pretended she had left the building.

What a shame, this very unfriendly experience to say the least, had given 12 people from 7 different countries a bad taste in the mouth.
