“Great decor, pleasant service”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Party of 3, we were given a very nice table with view of rice paddies.

Restaurant attracts also 'nouveau-riche' , very loud and obnoxious.
Restaurant gives (too) much attention to those tables ( because they have $$$ ?).

Food was nice, chocolate souffle wonderful !

“Not cheap but worth it”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

My son and his wife accompanied us to this upmarket eatery by the paddy fields. We all are partial to a good meal and have eaten at outstanding restaurants around the world and Sardines did themselves proud on the night. From the refreshing cold towels to the crisp linen and attentive staff, dining here was a pleasure. The live lobster that can be chosen from the tank at the entrance was delicious as were the other seafood dishes. The dessert sampler is a good share platter option. On our departure the hostess was kind enough to invite us back for the rice harvesting that was scheduled for that coming Sunday.

“Quality food, nice setting overlooking a rice paddy”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

We returned to Sardine in January, having shared a lovely meal there with friends in August 2012.

This time, we found the food of high quality and tasty, though some dishes lacking the 'wow' factor that one looks for in Bali's best restaurants. In terms of the menu, the entrees didn't grab us - and although we fully expected the menu to be predominantly seafood given it is a seafood restaurant, we were disappointed that there weren't any chicken dishes on the menu (on our prior visit, there was a chicken option for main course and it was absolutely delicious).

The service was very good and Sardine does the right thing by providing drinking water at no charge to diners. The food is quite reasonably priced but the drinks are expensive, and we felt the meal represented less value for money than some of our other nice means in Bali.

The restaurant has a lovely setting overlooking a rice paddy, however I think it may look greener and more lush at different times of the year; it was looking a bit brown and messy this time.

“Must visit!!”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Sardine was recommended to us by our accommodation (The Amala). The service was amazing, definitely a classy restaurant. It is set with a rice paddy out the back. After you have your entree and main, you can move to a table out the back for your coffee and dessert, which overlooks the rice paddy. It is so peaceful and relaxing.
The price was very reasonable too.

“Unique setting”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

Who would have thought to put a restaurant almost smack bang on a rice paddy? Great vision.
Beautiful and unique - very pretty, has quite a good atmosphere.

Think this is such a beautiful setting, food is pretty good but actually felt as if we were being a little rushed. Case of "overservice" not being rude - different culture.

Had a glass of wine which was a decent size and not just a dribble. Ordered thinking that we would have a bit of time to digest and relax a bit between courses (which we did ask for a break) but everything just kept coming as we ordered a few starters to share and before we knew it the main course was served.

The entrees were all very nice but found the main to be a "bit lacking". All in all think it was pretty good. Would go back again.
