Description: MÉTIS Restaurant, Lounge and Gallery is a sensory dining experience that embraces the sheer pleasures of living. With the recently opened lounge and beautiful garden, MÉTIS brings High Tea to a whole other level, a must try if you visit Bali. Flawless service in one of Bali's most elegantly sophisticated settings is just the beginning of this seduction into the depths of the five senses. MÉTIS is as fresh and sumptuous as the cuisine that graces its tables.

“Overrated and difficult to get into”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2010

Several times in the last 2 months we have tried to book into METIS. Interestingly they take your booking and phone number agree to seating location and upon arrival cannot find the booking. The manager will not return calls or speak to you when the complaint is raised. They do not accept any debit cards its cash or credit and no prior advice is given about this. When we finally managed to make a booking, and were seated the service was slow, and the standard of food has deteriorated and is not to the standard that one would expect or promised.

“Still one of the best in Bali”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2010

I have been to Metis many , many times - 5 visits this trip- and I have to say that the food here is extremely hard to beat in Bali. The quality is consistently excellent and the service very attentive and second to none. My favourite meal both here and in the old Kafe Warisan is the Duck Confit and even though I do try other dishes, I keep going back to my old favourite.
If you are looking for somewhere for that really special night out, quiet, peaceful views of the rice paddies and excellent French food you can do no better than Metis. BTW, I am going again tonight!!

“Slight Disappoint”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2010

Perhaps I have placed too high expectations based on what I read from the reviews.
The linguini was a tad too salty for my taste.
Staff could not understand English very well and they do not offer strict halal food though they claimed that most of the food is halal.

“Good food in a nice looking restaurant overlooking rice paddy fields”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2010

I have been to Warisan a few times over the years and during my last visit to Bali (September 2010), I was looking forward to trying out the "new Warisan" which has been renamed Metis and in a new location in Seminyak.

The food is still good and wine selection good ; although I somehow feel that the food is a notch below what it was during the previous Warisan days. The restuarant still overlooks a rice paddy field but is a lot bigger now and appears more modern. Therefore, it has somewhat lost the charm that the old Warisan had. Perhaps because of this, it now feels more "commercialised" in terms of the food and ambience.

Still, it is a good place to go to for good food and jazz and one of the better restaurants in Seminyak and Bali.

“Our Favorite Dining Place in Bali”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2010

We loved this restaurant and had been dining here ever since their name was Kafe Warisan. We loved the new place now. It is cleaner, better scenic view and the food stay the same. We had been to this restaurant many many times and still love to come and dine there everytime we are in Bali.
On our recent trip to Bali, we dine there twice, once at nite time and once in the lunch time. It was the first time for us eat there during afternoon time and was surprised to find very good lunch menu set such as the: BBQ Pork ribs set. It was real value (around Rp 70,000) which came with 1 big bowl of fries and 1 slab of BBQ Pork ribs. We also ordered the grilled fish of the day (baramundi) it was ok and kind of overgrilled. However the Duck confit was better in the lunch time...it was really good..the skin was not overcooked and still crispy. The sensational chocolate souffle as usual was the most favourite dessert of our family..and our son will always begging for more.
This place will remain as our top list of our favorite restaurants in Bali.
