Description: MÉTIS Restaurant, Lounge and Gallery is a sensory dining experience that embraces the sheer pleasures of living. With the recently opened lounge and beautiful garden, MÉTIS brings High Tea to a whole other level, a must try if you visit Bali. Flawless service in one of Bali's most elegantly sophisticated settings is just the beginning of this seduction into the depths of the five senses. MÉTIS is as fresh and sumptuous as the cuisine that graces its tables.

Whenever I need good food and perfect service, I dress up and visit Metis. Reliable quality in every way. I used to go there for dinner, but recently I've found out they have really good lunch sets at a reasonable price, and I visit them more often now. Wednesday noon's couscous is a stunner. My favorite dish here is the legendary hot foie gras, and also the steak with taragon perfumed Metis butter is a signature dish. Highly recommended!!

This place was recommended by two friends separately, so we made sure that we booked for dinner. We were promptly seated at a great table facing the lily ponds and were offered menus and drinks immediately. The menu was varied and it was difficult to choose something as everything sounded great! When the food came, it was beautifully presented and delicious. The only drawback was that it was very hot...the fans were not adequate for the open spaces, so this made for a slightly uncomfortable experience. But the food, drinks and service were faultless. Fine dining in a casual-ish atmosphere, without the stuffiness of many fine dining eateries. The price was also very reasonable for the decor, ambiance and food quality/presentation. I would definitely go there and have already recommended it to some friends who are travelling to Bali in the near future.

We have been several time to Metis since dec 2012 and are somewhat disappointed. Each time we go we hope for change but it does not appear to be on the agenda. The staff are still diffident
the service is slow and the restaurant is definitely understaffed as most people end up waiting too long for drinks and food. The pricing is excessive and matches western restaurants but misses out on the total package of price quality and service. THe wine list even allowing for the exorbitant Indonesian taxation is way overpriced. Lunch in December I waited for 30 minutes for a drink whilst the bar staff looked at me and smiled but did not take my order despite me beckoning them to come over. The food however was different excellent day time menu with very good choices and reasonably priced - the service was more in line with expectation. On the back of this we again went for diner. The attitude of the staff was as before - the service was slow and the food was too complicated. We felt although being somewhat regulars for business (it seems our guests from overseas need to go to Metis - somewhat like Ku De Ta) that the staff would rather be somewhere else rather than working. All in all after more than 8 visits over the last 2 years regretfully I will not be back and I will certainly dissuade my associates and encourage them to try many other fine restaurants in Bali of similar quality and atmosphere but with better attention from the staff

We tried this restaurant out after friends recommend we go. We headed in after a quick dinner at Sardine across the road. It was a Friday night and the bar and restaurant area was packed. But we were quickly shown to a seat by the bar. The cocktails are awesome, it has a very good vibe and less pretentious than some Bars that are around. The gardens at night lit up look beautiful. We decided to come back a couple of days later for a lunch. Different atmosphere but the food was amazing, and the service is spot on. I even bought a gorgeous bracelet at the jewellery store that is in house. I am sure that is how they make most of the jewellery sales. After a couple of cocktails who could resist! This would be nice for a group of people or for a romantic dinner for two

The Metis Restaurant would have to be one of the best Restaurants if not the best in Bali.
