We come here every visit to Bali and it just gets better. Even with a large group booking Sarong treated us with amazing food and a beautiful location. An absolute highlight !!!

I've lived in Bali close to a year and have tried all of the top restauraunts in South Bali. This is by far my favorite of them all. We tried many dishes and each one was so flavorful and terrific. The restaurant is beautiful as well and the staff is so nice and friendly. The restaurant is higher priced then others in Bali but still very cheap in comparison to any comparable western restaurant.

Generally first thing for Bali is to make bookings at good restaurants before leaving home; second thing is to have access to your email to send a confirmation the day before your booked time, else you will lose your booking.

We stayed at the W Retreat which is close at least 5 of the best restaurants in Bali, in fact walking distance. Sarong is one of those.

The greeting is typically asian friendly, we sat at the bar for pre dinner drinks and were entertained by the barmen telling us how they made the magnificent cocktails.

Table was ready and we were walked through the restaurant to a great table in the middle.

The amuse de bouche, the entree, the main course were all superb despite the simplicity of some dishes (grilled fish) and the complexity of others (pork belly and tamarillo)

Choice of wine was good (typically expensive in Bali, but not much mark up compared to the Retail store Vin down the road)

Service was attentive with fuss

I would recommend this restaurant and its right position in the top ten restaurants in Bali.

This was a great ending to a great holiday

We have been to Sarong 3 years ago and my friend went last year. But the food has taken a downward spiral. The ambience is still a credit but the meal was a disaster. We ordered the pork belly, the flavour was good but the presentation was lacking was the previous time when ordered.
We ordered the suckling pig which was a dish for 2 and one of the more expensive on the menu. It was a very big serve and half consisted of bones. When my husband tried to eat it was tough and could not be even sliced form the bone.We informed the waiting staff and they were very considerate, but the damaged had been done. There was little flavour even in the meat. The food was removed and other food offered. We declined but tasted our friends food which also was not up to standard, the beef rib was fatty and in a stew (not a patch on the beef rib I had at Merah Putih).
Credit to the waiting staff but not the food of past.

For my birthday I recently dined here with few friends. This place is really special with very inventive and creative menu. The service is attentive and prices reasonable. I like the settings now and the location is right in the heart of Petitenget. Recommended highly.
