“Charming atmosphere and sophisticated Asian cuisine”
Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

From the time you walk through the door you are met with a high class atmosphere and staff that allow you to forget the rat race of the Bali streets.

You will be met at the door by a well dressed hostess who will direct staff to guide you to your table and then experience Asian style silver service.

The menu is extensive and will surely meet the demands of the fussiest diner. Staff will even drill down to any allergies you may have and ask if you like spicy food.

Entree consisted of pork belly which definitely hit the mark and really did start to satisfy my hunger as it was a very large size.

After being asked when we wanted the main meal I then had a light green snapper curry (extra spicy) which hit the mark and was a large size for a 'fine dining' experience. Add the jasmine rice and I was definitely left with a feeling of contentment. It is rather funny watching the staff communicate when you want your food by walkie talkie.

Of course I had to go dessert and had the duck egg ginger custard with palm sugar caramel and ice cream. Unfortunately this was the let down and was too many flavours, confusing and left me wondering how to actually mix the flavours with only a teaspoon and the custard had a burnt taste.

The staff throughout the evening were fantastic and at times too attentive with us being asked on several occasions if we would like a drink, order mains etc. like I said this is Asian fine dining.

Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant and stress to really get the most out of the evening make sure you dress up, enjoy a cocktail at the bar and marvel at the eclectic gathering of different themes (including background music) and wait staff attire.

“Our first night in Bali...”
Reviewed November 16, 2012 via mobile

Sarong was the first meal we had in Bali this holiday. We did not have a reservation and they were still able to accommodate us. The staff were fabulous and the cocktails were amazing. The food was also great. Chicken in betel leaf and Pork entree especially. The lighting was dark which is the only poor thing I noticed. Over all a great experience.

“Fantastic, Fantastic Fantastic”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is spectacular and as with most things in Bali incredibily inexpensive. The atmosphere is casual and sophisticated. Not the cheapest place to eat but the value for monty is exceptional. I wish wine was not so expensive in Bali because a lovely bottle would have made the experience complete - not quite the same with beer and cocktails.

“Wow”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

What can I say! Every time we travel to Bali ( which is about 8 - 10 times per year ) we visit Sarong. It is continually sensational. Food very good and staff attentive and friendly. Up there on price, but well worth it.
