This is one of our favorite places, when you are heading your trip to Amed, virgin beach or other place in Karangasem, don't miss this place. This old palace is beautiful. If you like photography, you can come here earlier, to get the sunrise moment.

Back to the old times, this park was functioning as a place of exile for the man who alleged to run the black magic (leak). At the period of I Gusti Bagus Jelantik governance which start to lead the Karangasem Kingdom in the year 1909, this pool area is extended and developed by some pools and also luxury building Bale Gili with European style (modern style), later than it is given the name called Taman Sukasada/ Sukasada Park Ujung Karangasem, that is estimate made in the year of twentieth.

Suggestion :
- Driving from kuta, legian or nusa dua area will took time 3 hours to reach this place, so if you want to come here, better you have plan to visit other place in karangasem so you can save your travel time.

The palace is very large and also quite beautiful. However the original palace was destroyed by the volcano eruption in the 60's and was only rebuild in 2000, so the palace is missing some history.

This amazing piece of history is worth a visit. Only about 10kms from Candidasa it is one of three Water Palaces built by the last Raja of Karangasem. It has been rebuilt after two disasters and is beautifully maintained. Take your time to enjoy the tranquil gardens and read the history of the palace.

Heard this place so many times but never really have time to visit finally we made it. Is one of the most beautiful place we have seen in Bali. I like the place so much and come back again after a week of visit. If you into architectural, nice to see the genuine Karang Asem style that much different that southern Bali. Best part? not crowded like any other tourist place.

We visited Tirtagangga Water palace only to be disappointed by how small it was (cause of the 2-3 hours ride), but since Ujung water palace is nearby (15 mins ride), we decide to visit the place. It was well worthed, the place is a lot bigger than Tirtagangga, huge gardens, and you can go up the stairs to get a bird's eye view of the place! 30 mins is probably enough here!
