A most unique place in an island which is getting a bit damaged by tourism. Wonderful organic food, the sea crashing at the foot of the terrace, traditional balinese architecture and especially - wonderful Balinese staff with all of the warmth and concern for other's happiness traditional on the Island. There is a fine stretch of sea right in front, where swimming is safe and easy (no oceanic currents). We will return!

Room Tip: There are only two bungalows, and both a great

From the organic garden to the comfy inviting bed... TBH is a fantastic destination for those looking to get off the beaten track and really slow down to breathe, eat delicious food, star gaze and gently fall asleep to an ocean lullaby. To go for a beach walk you take a short drive to White Sands beach, which is the most beautiful clean beach i've seen in Bali.

First, the villas are really great. Clean and well-maintained. Cute architecture and fantastic furniture. Originally from Sulawesi, as the old hindi priest told us that approached us on our first day to sell us some spiritual activities.

I didn't like the area. The turtle bay hideaway is a closed space. Maybe that's the idea of a retreat, but I prefer the "open space" approach, like that of the fantastic Bali Eco Stay hotel, where there are no walls and fences to the neighboring fields and forests.

Service was sleepy and lame. Maybe because it was low season, but that's no excuse. I really had a hard time getting help with booking a boat trip. Usually I would revert to getting help from a local travel agency, but there is none around. So I had to rely on the help from the reception, but they did not seem to be prepared to provide such kind of help.

Food was served on the villa balcony. That sounds nice, but if you like just another drink or you're still hungry (portions are very small), you need to wait ages to be served. Food quality was not more than average.

The Wireless Internet signal was too weak for Internet access inside the Villa, so you had to walk to the reception. I complained, but to no avail.

Finally, all that said, the Turtle Bay may still be a nice destination for travelling with a small group.

Direct seafront location overlooking Lombok Straits, 3 villas and 2 infinity perfectly placed ozone filtered salt water pools plus organic gardens, Eco styled tribal architecture and outstanding kitchen staff producing delicious organic meals 3 x daily ....this is a return visit for me and it's memorable and remarkable in every sense. Sleeping to the rhythm of the surf, Indoor outdoor living (including some bathrooms which are are private but also indoor/outdoor), daily massage and blissful setting make for an extraordinary experience...cannot recommend this place more highly! Views to Mount Agung and Lombok and along the East Bali coastline are magnificent.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and great...Honeymoon villa has private pool

Far from the press and chaos of the more crowded parts of Bali, at Turtle Bay Hideway you'll experience true tranquility and a bit of old Bali, yet with the comfort of thoughtful amenities like the fresh water infinity pools free of chlorine from which to view the ocean, stars, sunrises and sunsets. The ocean front Sulawesi natural wooden villas are well positioned to capture the nearly constant gentle sea breezes so you are soothed by the swell of the surf rather than endure the hum of a fan. The local village rice fields and coconut palms stretch just beyond the beautifully landscaped grounds. Many of the ingredients in the delicious meals are grown on site in the organic gardens and the organic red rice comes from the owners rice fields nearby. The owners ducks and chickens supply fresh eggs and his nearby herd of goats supplies fresh great tasting milk, yogurt and cheese. The cooks are skillful and versatile in preparing healthy and tasty dishes to order from all raw, to vegetarian, to seafood and chicken. Everyone on the staff is friendly and the internet connection is solid. An unspoiled white sand beach and coral reef is a fifteen minute drive away.

Room Tip: For couples, request villa kelapa which has it's own pool

Turtle Bay Hideaway is one of Bali's best kept secrets. A true paradise that surprisingly few people know about. My German and Mexican cousins loved it. From the wonderful old wooden houses lovingly saved from destruction in Sulawesi and transported to Bali and given modernized interiors to the dramatic symphony of waves crashing along the beach outside and Turtle Bay's secret walled garden filled with flowers and mouth watering organically grown vegetables to the elegant ying and yang swimming pool that glows an electric blue at night - Turtle Bay Hideaway is truly wonderful. Here they grow their own red rice, produce their own honey and have their own coffee plantation. Amongst the vegetables grown in the vegetable gardens that are watered in the traditional way of Balinese ricefields are carrots, several varieties of lettuce, radishes, beets, winged beans, onions, chives, leeks, cabbages, mint, basil, sweet leaf and many more. They even have their own goats and produce the most delicious milk and yogurt and the best tasting lassies I have ever had.
Fifteen minutes away from Turtle Bay the beautifu White Sand beach in one direction and Ujong Indonesia's loveliest water palace, in the other direction. Hald an hour a way is Tirtagangga, a charming water palace in the cool mountains with fountains and the memorable Mahabharata pool where the figures of the two warring clans of cousins are lined up against each other.
Turtle Bay Hideaway was created with love and anyone staying there will feel it instantly. Tamalia Alisjahbana

Room Tip: I don't have any. All the rooms are good.
