Owner description: The former royal palace of Tirtagangga (which means water of the Ganges, Hinduism's holy river) features tiered fountains, gardens, and stone sculptures of mythical creatures spouting water into bathing pools. Just outside the palace grounds, the views of the lush rice paddies of northeastern Bali are stunning.

This water palace was absolutely beautiful! It was a very good size and we were able to walk over the place for amazing views from every angle! My only complaint was that it was very very crowded. Definitely a well known tourist attraction. The water stones with the fish were cool but because there were so many people, I was sometimes worried I was going to fall into the water!

Tirta Gangga is a water palace in Karangasem. We travelled there, from Ubud to see this place. There is a parking space nearby for vehicles. Within the compound, there are pools of water fountains and statues with large colourful fishes swiming in the pools which are fascinating both to children and adults. There is also a temple within the complex. There are stepping stones over the fish pond on which you can try to walk, but becareful not to fell in the pond. For such activities, keep your passport safe. Bring a bottle of water, sunblock, and a hat along. For me, this temple is a must visit, and a trip here is worth it.

I was keen to visit Tirta Gangga on our hobeymoon as it looked so beautiful in all of the photographs. The gardens are, indeed, colourful and relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed our walk exploring them. Certain sections can get quite busy, for example the pond with the stepping stones as everyone wants to feed the fish that are huge. You can buy food to do this on the stalls before you come in. You do not need a guide to walk around here so do not be fooled by those outside offering this service. The gardens are beautiful and there is lots of space to walk around and even sit so you don't feel as if you are constantly surrounded by others. The restaurant here is fine to get a drink and snack although there are possibly better places just a short drive away (check TripAdvisor!) Although the view is pleasant here for a drink and a sit. The statues in the gardens are great and the bridges do become popular picture spots so snap quickly if you get the chance!

We have seen many temples whilst holidaying in Bali but this one was definitely one of the nicest ones! Very nice place to hang out and feed the fish ;-)
