Owner description: The former royal palace of Tirtagangga (which means water of the Ganges, Hinduism's holy river) features tiered fountains, gardens, and stone sculptures of mythical creatures spouting water into bathing pools. Just outside the palace grounds, the views of the lush rice paddies of northeastern Bali are stunning.

Great place to visit. Interesting story behind it. A bit out of the way from kuta though. Restaurant there was expensive and food not that great. If you go there, don't have your meal there. Go back to Kuta or Seminyak.

“Scenic”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

A interesting attraction with many a tale of the Water Palace. It is advisable to let a guide take you around the attraction. There are two Water Palaces in the area but this one is the oldest. Very scenic and some great shots for camera buffs.
The guide will only cost you about $2 au

“Simply beautiful”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

The design of this water palace and gardens is simply stunning. The balinese have an eye for design anyway, and this epitomises that craft at the highest level.

Everywhere you go within the palace grounds, you will find a stunning view.

It can be over-run by visitors at times, so try to get there early or late. And walk right around the palace area so that you can take in the view from every angle.
