A great place for a romantic date. The food is all pretty good, especially the chocolate fondue which is amazing. The prices are a little high, but hey, it's not a place you're going to all of the time. Don't skip on the chocolate though.

My husband and I finally tried the Melting Pot Restaurant. We made reservations and were seated after just a couple minutes having a drink at the bar. Our server was excellent and explained all of our options for dining to us so that we couldn't wait to try everything. We went with the Four Course Menu. We started with our cheese fondue which was prepared right at our table, followed by delicious salads. (California Salad and Spinach and Mushroom Salad...both were excellent) Then on to our main course...We chose two different options for our entree and were both given 5-6 different types of meat to cook. We were offered 12 different sauces for dipping.
If you like to personalize your menu when going out to eat, this is a great choice for dinner with all of the options available. The service was professional and friendly, the food was fresh, and we enjoyed the relaxed feel throughout our time there. There is no rush to move on to the next course until you are ready. With the four course meal, you will want to take your time to enjoy it. Our entire dining experience lasted an hour and a half. We finished with dessert, choosing the milk chocolate and crunchy peanut butter sauce to dip our brownies, pound cake, and fruits in. The price is a little more than we usually spend on a dinner out together, so I would recommend this as a special occasion restaurant. Our bill was $90 for two 4-Course meals with two beers each. Well worth the price!! We will definitely go back again.

The Melting Pot is one our favorites. We've been eating there for 20 years (starting with the one inRockville and moving to Towson when they opened there). It is a fondue restaurant and that alone is an experience. The food is great. The ambiance is wonderful. We usually start with a cheese fondue for an appetizer. Then move to a main course and end with a chocolate fondue for dessert. The cheese fondue is prepared right at your table. There is a burner built into your table and that's the center of the experience. The main course is brought to the table raw and you cook it yourself. The pieces are small so they will cook in the fondue broth in two minutes. The entire experience can often take an hour to an hour and a half. This allows for a nice slow dinner with a chance for great conversation. No one ever rushes you out the door. In most restaurants you're finished eating 10minutes after the food arrives. Not here!! You will have a thoroughly relaxing meal. We even brought our kids this time. They loved it. But fair warning, it is expensive. Our bill was over $150 for a family of four. We only do this on very special occasions.
