The food was ok ok.. They gave very little cheese for the fondue.. When I took the firsg sip of my drink and didnt like it, I ordered for another one.. Tht wasn't good either!! They charged me for both d drinks!!! I found tht weird!!
The quality of the shrimp was poor.. The pork was very well marinated!!

“thankg goodness other people arrived”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2012

While this is not really the fault of the restaurant, when we were seated, there was only one other table in the room that had patrons and those patrons were LOUD. As the evening went on, other tables were seated and the noise level grew appropriately, but initially it was very uncomfortable because we could hear each and every word of a very awkward Valentine's Day date. I was surprised because the other levels of the restaurant had music playing, but this room on this level did not.
As always the food and service were fabulous. I feel sorry for the wait staff at this location as there are many levels and they are huffing trays from the first floor all the way up to the top! In spite of it being the Saturday before Valentine's Day, we did not feel rushed to leave our table after dinner and had enough time to delightfully finish our bottle of wine.

“Great food, a few flaws”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2012

We've been going to The Melting Pot at various locations for years. Our trip this evening with the family was characteristically good, with just a few challenges.

We started with the cheddar appetizer, which was very good in both flavor and dippability. Oddly, our salads were delivered in the middle of our appetizer course. This created a space problem at the table (given all the different items provided). Very strange pacing that we had not experienced before.

The California salads have changed since our last visit a couple years ago. Firstly, the salad was way over-dressed, sitting in a pool of dressing. Secondly, there was scant blue cheese. And finally, the candied walnuts were more like crunch walnut cereal pellets. They had a decidedly manufactured taste and were not at all like the actual nuts previously used.

We did the bullion main course, getting the vegetarian, seafood trio and pacific rim entrees. All were good, portions satisfactory, and product quality and preparation good.

For dessert we did all dark chocolate. We liked the addition of graham and chocolate cookie crumb-rolled marshmallows. The scant two pieces of brownie and two pieces of pound cake (now red velvet pound cake) revealed embarrassingly small portions. Of course, you can ask for additional (some for a charge, some free, as we understand), but it was disappointing that there would start with so little. We were out of dippable items while about a third of our chocolate was still there.

Overall, aside from being a bit rushed, service was good, very friendly. The place is quite humid, which is welcomed in the winter, but might be problematic in the summer. The bill...not cheap, but we knew that.

“Great Service, but overpriced extremely long meal”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2012

First let me start by saying that I had one of the best waiters I have ever met. He worked hard and we were there late, but he never acted like it was a problem. The process they have is somewhat confusing and they somewhat try to nickel and dime you. The cheese we started with was delicious. It would have been better if they used toasted bread, but no big deal. The salad was just a standard old salad. The "entree" on the other hand is not what its cracked up to be. I understand its about the "experience" but this is more work than eating. You have a plate filled with different cuts of meats and seafood so we had a lobster tail, buffalo chicken, filet mignon, sirloin cuts and a few sauces. U put the meat in the hot water thats "seasoned" and u wait... and wait... and wait make sre u bring a watch or clock because u have to wait like 3 minutes for every bite. What saved the meal though was the dessert. We had the original with the chocolate and Peanut butter crumbles and wow was it incredible. They give you a sample platter that has marshmallow, cheesecake, pound cake, strawberry and other things and wow is it delicious.

Here is my problem with here our meal was about $50.00 a person mostly because the entree portion. Just the cheese and dessert for TWO people would be $32.00. This I believe is the best part of the meal AND worth the cost, but the "entree" is over priced, tedious, and mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and go here for the cheese and chocolate, don't waste your time with the meat.

“Typical Melting Pot with better than normal ambiance.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2011

Enjoyed visiting the Melting Pot last night. Although the menu is the same as all the other Locations, this set up has many small rooms instead of one large room. Food was delicious as ever. If you can get past paying $100 for a plate of raw food and really enjoy the experience, then this is the place for you.
