Diving is more fun with friends. Can't bring yours? Serge and Kira (and Peanut the stoic dog) got you covered. The owners live by their slogan, "come as a stranger, leave as a friend," and go above and beyond when dealing with their customers. Whether you're a seasoned diver looking for new amazing sites or just thinking of giving diving a go, they will make sure your experience is unforgettable. But they'll also gladly help you out if you need help getting a ride or picking a local restaurant or if you're really really thirsty after a dive and in dire need of a Bintang (or 2. Or 3. Or 4). My own experiences had me coming back 2 more times. And for sure more in the future.
I came into this dive shop after having not such a great first intro dive with another company in Amed. I explained that to Serge (one of the owners) and felt I could be comfortable with him to take me again. Throughout the learning of the skills and the whole Dive he was so patient and attuned to how I was doing. He made sure I was comfortable and relaxed throughout the dives and honestly I was because I had someone very experienced who truly cared and knew how to hold that space for me to learn my way in the water. At one point he said, "I want to take people on their first dive and afterwards they say 'wow! I want to do that again!!'" A GoPro was also brought to take photos during and the pics were sent to me to keep which is a cool feature (at no extra charge). Lunch is included from a local Warung with two dives. Serge's partner and co-owner Kira was also wonderful and caring while we were at the dive shop. Which the dive shop is also very clean and modern by the way! Cute animals there too :) the staff are fantastic and care about the experience of their customers. It's also cool that they have a "Refill your bottle" station for anyone to come and fill their water bottle anytime to help with the plastic waste problem which I totally appreciate. I really have nothing that I feel could be better about my experience! 100% I'd recommend and will go back!
This was a fantastic choice in Amed, where many dive shops thrive! Just up the street from our hotel, with a really friendly and knowledgeable crew, dog and cat hanging around too! Got the 'try dive' paperwork and gear fitting done the evening before, making for a smooth start and quick instructional in water! 10/10
We came by on our first night, and got the advise to wait a day after the rains and waves (we hope) had subsided, which led to a beautiful, calm morning to visit the shipwreck and pyramids! Early dive made for an uncrowded site, with really easy and interesting shore dives at each site, and tons of diversity on the reefs. Went with the goal of seeing a giant Grouper & a Sea Turtle, and they came through strongly, with sweet photos!
My partner had her open water cert. so had different guides and routes, and we still managed to converge and get a bunch of great photos together underwater via Gopro, which is just a small example but meant a lot towards our excellent time with these guys. All this, in hope to explain that this crew makes a dive day really easy and affordable, with people trying to make your dive as smooth and satisfying as can be!
Me and my son went on two dives, my wife and daughter came along for snorkling with Amed Jepun divers.
They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They were attentive and they went out of their way to make sure that we were good and everything was ok.
The staff were outgoing, had perfect english (and danish), a very friendly and including attitude.
We had two good dives with good views of the USS Lberty, sea turtles, eagle ray, stingrays, giant morays and many other things.
The dives were well planned and adjusted to our needs. My son went with Serge and I went with a group of 4. We joined up under water as planned and got the photos we wanted. It all went perfectly.
They were great with my kids. They were interested in them, asked them questions and included them in the talks. Both my kids had a good time on this trip.
We had a great experience. We will definitely come back to Amed Jepun Divers next time we are here.
Great people (and dog and cat), great atmosphere. The deck with ocean view and super nice seating and free coffee and tea was a nice plus. Professional and very friendly guides and good equipment. Diving and snorkeling were both awesome!
I had such a great time diving with the team at Jepun Divers. They are all very friendly, and work hard to make you comfortable from the moment you arrive, offering you a drink, and sitting down to talk to you about what you want to do.
I came for a few days to do my Open Water certification, and left 10 days later with Advanced, Deep and Nitrox certifications. I had Simone (and Kirstin) instructing me throughout, and he made everything very clear and easy to understand in pre-dive briefings and post-dive debriefs.
I also did fun dives with Kira, Luana and Made, all of whom were great guides with a lot of knowledge to share. They are very happy to show you the great sites in Amed, and that diving here is much more than just the liberty wreck (but they can show you the electric clam here if you ask nicely!)
After diving the shop is a great place to hang out for a drink with the team and other divers. They really live up to their slogan, and you will leave as a friend - or feeling like family.
