I had such a great time diving with the team at Jepun Divers. They are all very friendly, and work hard to make you comfortable from the moment you arrive, offering you a drink, and sitting down to talk to you about what you want to do.
I came for a few days to do my Open Water certification, and left 10 days later with Advanced, Deep and Nitrox certifications. I had Simone (and Kirstin) instructing me throughout, and he made everything very clear and easy to understand in pre-dive briefings and post-dive debriefs.
I also did fun dives with Kira, Luana and Made, all of whom were great guides with a lot of knowledge to share. They are very happy to show you the great sites in Amed, and that diving here is much more than just the liberty wreck (but they can show you the electric clam here if you ask nicely!)
After diving the shop is a great place to hang out for a drink with the team and other divers. They really live up to their slogan, and you will leave as a friend - or feeling like family.
Absolutely recommend this place. I did my Open Water with Simone and had the best training I could have asked for. He made me feel super confident and safe under water.
Also the dive center is a very nice and relaxed place to hang out, even for my partner who didnt participated in any of the dives or courses. He was welcomed every day in the shop to chill while I did my training.
Super nice staff and awesome dive spots!!
Owner Serge and our dive guide Meda were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The itinerary and dives were well explained and we felt like we were in good hands. The dive sites that we went to (liberty and Bunutan) were also good - we saw a lot of marine life, more than expected. Many types of creatures to see and time underwater went by fast. Good visibility as well. All round a fantastic experience!
This summer I spent 3 months with these guys going from a baby open water diver through Advanced, Rescue and Divemaster. I can't thank them enough for all they taught me throughout the entire process.
I was recommended Amed Jepun Divers by a friend and put in contact with Kira (co-owner) who was so warm and helpful with everything involved with getting to Amed and whilst I was there. She instantly made me feel at home and I knew I had made the right choice with Jepun.
Serge (co-owner) is probably the coolest cucumber I have ever met, many a post-dive beer was had and thank you for the daily blues show!
Simone and Luana (Instructors), my mentors! These guys put me through the paces and went above and beyond to make us DMT's the best little minions (well we tried). I learned so much from them and any questions I had they were happy to answer with their sponge-like information filled brains! As well as all the learning we also had a lot of laughs. It was so much fun flying through the sea with you guys, a lot of special moments that I'll never forget. Thank you for keeping that wee fire in my belly burnin' under the water!
Madelino! (Made) was my DMT buddy and is now Jepun's local dive master. He has an amazing eye and can show you all the best spots above and below the water. It was so much fun learning with (and mostly from) you, buddy! Hope to dive again soon!
Wiwi (Reception) and Wayan (Driver) are very happy helpful people that keep the place running like clockwork. I miss seeing your smiling faces in the morning!
Basically if you want to go diving, go with Jepun. Their logo "Come as a stranger, leave as a friend" couldn't be more true. They keep their diving ratios small with 2 students to 1 instructor and 4 fun divers with 1 guide because you are more than just a number. They'll make you feel comfortable, safe and well informed all whilst having a lot of fun. The dive shop is also a great place to hang out with hammocks, bean bags, coffee/tea/soda/beer and an amazing view of the ocean.
Big love you guys and happy bubbles xx
I've been meaning to write this review for a while! Jepun divers were the best diving shop I have been to, the staff are super friendly and gave us lots of information about the different dive sites they go to and what they usually see there, and also a list of great food recommendations in Amed! My friend and I really wanted to see sharks and so they took us to a site where they have seen sharks in the past and we saw 3! We also did the usat liberty wreck dive which was great going early before it got too busy there. Thanks guys for an awesome experience, and for going the extra mile (even booking my boat on to the gili islands, and sending us some amazing pics they took on one of the dives)
Diving is great with Jepun Divers - they are just lovely people. They will bring you to the good spots and take safety and education seriously, too. You will enjoy hanging out with them.
