Words cannot begin to describe the true essence of our experience staying at Villa Sarchi.
We arrived mid September and had booked the villa for eight consecutive nights, after travelling around all Bali for two weeks prior to that.
By that time, we needed some serious chilling out, with peace and quiet guaranteed, and that is EXACTLY what we found at Villa Sarchi : it doesn’t get more private and tranquil than that!
Every morning, we got up right before sunrise to watch the natural wonders of nature unfold over the ocean with the sky illuminating itself in all possible shades of pink, purples and orange, the sun rising above Lombok, all while silently sipping morning coffee! Wow, this is a wonderful and wonderfilled experience we are not about to forget. Obviously, we snuck back into bed for a couple of hours after that: this was our special “honeymoon treat” after all!
By the time we woke up “for real”, sweet Wayan, one of the Villa's own Staff members had prepared breakfast for us.
What a delight that was: fresh tropical fruit platter, yogurt and juice, fresh Bali coffee, eggs cooked to our liking, crispy bacon, baked tomatoes with herbs and yummy toast! As well as a nice variety of jams and others spreads.
Knowing that you do not need to get out of the villa at all - because all you need is right there, brings an amazing feeling of “aaaaahhhhhhh” … We redefined the word “relaxing” right there and then: we were alternating all our free time between dips in the beautiful refreshing infinity pool (offering over 180 degree of
absolute private view on the ocean), with some much needed naps on the veranda, in the cooling sea breeze, to sipping a drink watching the typical Balinese fishermen’s boats go by …I mean, seriously, it couldn’t have gotten any better! But it did because we spotted not less than three whales gracefully passing by that week! Whales!!! Wow!
While we were chilling and enjoying some great quality time, Staff were attending to their daily chores: cleaning the pool, watering the garden (we fell in love with the smell of those frangipani trees!), keeping the house tidy and clean, and preparing snacks and meals for us, as the day went by. We were amazed by their discretion, to a point where we almost forgot about their presence. Yet there was this nice reassuring feel to it, to know there’s always someone around, to kind of watch over us … We felt both very safe and very kindly looked after!
the owner, is a very sweet and very resourceful lady who has lived in Bali for many years. She was always just an email (the villa offers excellent internet fiver optic cable connection!) or a phone call away, whenever we needed information, transport or extra food. She also owns The Grill, one of Amed’s finest restaurants, so we had food delivered to our door several times: both convenient and yummy delicious.
It is also through her that we booked a few mini excursions in the area that were all well worth our time away from our little sanctuary: Tirta Gangga, White Sand Beach, a sunset fishing trip and Pura Lempuyang.
But the highlight of our week, was the private honeymoon photo-shoot she arranged for us with a professional lady photographer based in Amed: not only are we returning home with a feeling of deep “gratitude & zenitude", but also with over 250 fabulous photos of the two of us!
I could go on and on, raving about this delightful experience but I will leave it to this: if your plan is to pamper yourself with some genuine anti stress time, where privacy and comfort meet, you just found it! We will return for sure!
