perfect location - thats it.

Dirty rooms (used pilow, duvet when I checked in). Old soap all around the shower. No room service, had to ask for it but they offered diving all hours. The staff is just unpolite, very rude - more like teenager. food is expensive and not the best. Were really disappointed. Dont stress yourself - there are better accomodations near Amed.

This is another page for Barong Cafe so I just copy-paste my feedback for this magic place.
I found the heart of the island in Barong Cafe. Amed is REAL Bali - very quiet & peaceful place.
Nice pool, very good cuisine. Good price! Snorkling, diving & other kind of the rest. Stuff is very pleasant.
If you'll need anything - ask Komang, manager of the hotel. He's a great man! He'll help you for tourist's trips, changing money or anything else. He knows everything about Bali's history, has a great sense of humor & very good skills in English.
I wanna thanks my new friend for a great time for me & my wife!

Booked in for one night and stayed 3. Really nice hotel with lovely staff. Would definetly go back. Renting a bike is a good option due to Amed being quite spread out although u could walk to a number of restuarants in less than 10 mins. Pretty quite around in general but that could be due to the time of year.

Spent a relaxing week here. Very good pricing. Great pool which we had to ourselves most of the time. Food is good. Lot's of cheap places to eat around. Recommend hiring moped to explore. The nearby beach actually has worldclass snorkeling (no big fish or turtles but dense coral and tropical fish). Next to 5star resorts. Near local village and good local eateries (especially fish fillets). Only downside is very loud cockerels from 5am which are not possible to sleep through without earplugs AND noise cancelling headphones which was a real shame. Also staff would always ask where you are going when you go out which could get annoying (though was probably meant to be friendly) but this is a 4 bedroom place so you will get to know the staff anyway. Breakfast simple (eggs/pancake). Provide good value boat transfer to Gili Islands also. Excellent shop next door.

Room Tip: We had the only one by the pool so felt like a private pool but we got annoyed (completely irrationa...

We stayed at Barong Cafe for 4 nights as part of a 12 day visit to Bali.

The bungalows are clean and spacious with good internet (included).
The decor was pleasing and we had a large walk-in shower.
Rooms were cleaned daily.
There are a lot of steps which may not suit the less mobile.

The freshwater pool is very clean and ideally situated giving amazing views of the sea, fishing boats and the sunrise, surrounded by six sun-loungers.

We ate at the cafe most nights and they provide good meals at a reasonable price.
Breakfast was a little disappointing, just egg, toast or omelette. They just need to add fruit?
There are other restaurants in easy walking distance

From the very start the manager Kamal was excellent, responding to e-mails quickly with a definite "can do" attitude. He provided an excellent transfer service, collecting us from the airport personally.

We chose Amed for its location - close to local dive sites and close to the fast-boat service to the Gilis and Lombok. The business is also linked to the local dive shop and the fast-boat, so Kamal was able to sort that out too, providing free transfers to and from the beach.

At the end of our stay, Kamal took us to our next location (Ubud) which included visits to the water palace, a coffee plantation, a siver workshop, the biggest Temple in Bali, a volcano and lake en-route .... all for the same price!

Overall I cannot praise the cafe and staff enough, the high quality rooms and excellent location
make this an ideal place to stay, and the price makes this unbeatable value for money!

Room Tip: Bungalow one is next to the pool and has excellent sea views. Bungalow two has a shower over a bath...

Lovely 4 bungalow hotel with great views of the water. Staff helpful and friendly. The restaurant at the front does not prepare you for the lovely pool and bungalow area up the many stairs at the back. the bungalows are clean, beds comfortable. towels soft and the infinity pool, while not large, still allows some laps! air con and a strong fan and hot water. breakfast is included but only 1 egg so not a filling meal. there are some mosquitos but keeping the fan on at night helps alot. the bathroom is decent but there are some open windows so the door needs to be closed at all times as the mosquitos at night invade!

Room Tip: we enjoyed the bungalow right beside the pool as it was not busy and felt like out own villa! sample...
