Australian Travellers looking for 'The Old Bali' take note.....
Upon arrival the understated yet elegant entrance, whilst wonderful, did not really prepare us for what lay behind those walls. The welcome drink, and the staff, warm and friendly immediately. Then the vision of the exquisitely planned and maintained resort. O.M.G.!!! A phrase used daily many times during our stay.
As it turned out, we were the only guests there for our booked time of 6 days/nights...Our own private beachfront paradise complete with specially hand picked and well trained staff, although they all felt like friends just after 24 hours. Many before us have spoken of Villa 9 and 10, and yes if you can do it....do it! But equally the other accommodation options, (we had a peek) will not disappoint. In fact they were cleaned, dusted and aired each day, although no other guests were booked in.
Our Swiss hosts, Anna and Orlando,.......2 gloriously special people...... with a joint vision to create something really special.......and WOW! they sure have. We all enjoyed our daily chats, and each improved our German, Swiss, English and Balinese knowledge and language skills.
Unfortunately 2 members of our group were involved in a serious accident, outside of the resort, resulting in ambulance transport and eventual hospitalisation in Kuta, 2 days short of our original booking. Anna and Orlando and the staff stepped up voluntarily and did all they could to comfort and expedite any requests of medical supplies, transport etc. This is how caring they are.
We will be back, and probably around the same time of year...quieter, more personal and with my shouting from every roof top, hopefully more discerning Aussies will make the effort to enjoy what East Bali has to offer.
What an find! Thank you to all Trip Advisor contributors, that convinced our party of 2 middle aged couples to book.
