“Great location, friendly staff and value for money”

We stayed at Jukung on recommendation from a friend who had stayed there a year before. It located right on the beach (black sand so not overly impressive but snorkling is good) which was nice and in a very green garden. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us with trips. They helped us arranged transfer and a fast boat over to Gili Air which we would throughly recommend, although we would probably say to go from Padang Bai because it's cheaper. There are some very sweet and good restaurant along the dark little road that Jukung is on, the guys at Jukung recommended a restaurant (don't remember the name) and it was great! The room we had was without air conditioning so warm but the fan was effective. The sheets were clean and the bed comfortable. I would say the room was very dark but had good lighting around the bed for reading and also mosquito nets. The bathroom we had was an outside 'garden' bathroom but it was fine, very basic with cold water only but it was all you needed, given the heat. There was no problem with mosquitos even though it was partly open. The towels were a little old and small but clean all the same. We had a nice evening in Amed, felt safe and enjoyed a party on the beach! This is a good place to stay if you just want somewhere fairly basic and for a good rate, we paid 200,000 rupiah for one night.

We are a family with three kids, two teenagers and a 3 year old. We stayed at this place for 12 days and could spend the rest of our lives there. We rented two bungalows (abt 10 m from each other). We stayed more than a week and therefore we got a really good rate. We earn euros and it came down to be really cheap. A great deal for what we got. The place was totally secure for valuables and also for the kids. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are only 4 bungalows with a lot of greenery and directly at the beach. Its an excellent spot for snorkelling. There is a supermarket at the opposite side of the street which has most of the basic stuff, lots of restaurants around with excellent food and when we didnt feel like going there, we simply told the staff to get the food for us which was never a problem. You can hire motorbikes (nobody asks for a license) and nyoman (one of the staff) is a money changer as well. It was so peaceful, quiet and nice there, also because of wayan, the massage lady. she gives excellent massages for abt 5€. after one hour massage you feel like in heaven. We will definately go back there on our next trip to bali. one of the greatest places we have ever been to, and we do travel a lot. ciao from italy!

The Jukung Bali is lcoated at the very beginning of Amed, directly at the beach and just across from the only store in the area. Which is important, since they only serve breakfast at the hotel.
The hotel contains 3 bungalows at the beach, it doesnt get any closer to the wather than this. The rooms are huge and very well decorated with open-air bathroom. There is one room with AC, the others have a big fan. Every room has a big veranda with a lounging area from which you see the ocean. It's the perfect hideaway if you're looking for peace and quiet. There is nothing to do but chilling at the beach, diving and snorkelling. The two guys who run the place do everything to make your stay unforgettable. There are so sweet and helpful! This place is a dream come true and I can only highly recommend it. Will most defenitly go back some day.
