“Excellent food, great location & friendly staff”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

There are many options for food in Amed but Sails offers what most don't - well seasoned and prepared, excellent-tasting food. The portions are generous and the seaview stunning. The place is clean and has a classy feel to it. We'd like to compliment Komang Sumerta (sp?), who has proven to be extremely friendly and a great asset to the restaurant! We'll be back with some friends!

“Great lunch”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

Based on 2 'pop-in' visits for lunch.

Friendly service, nice ocean view.
Prices in the menue are all net, so no monetary surprises at the end of the meal.

Had fish cakes both days - unlike the reheated (and more expensive) ones from the luxury restaurant nearby - these were made from scratch. Very good - best the first day, different fish - different taste?

Salad was fresh and crispy.

Fish and chips was very good. Would have been perfect if it included some sort of sauce.

Would like to come back a day they have got prawns - those dishes on the menue seem very tempting.

“Restaurant With A Fantastic View”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

Good selection of dishes for lunch or dinner served on an elevated terrace overlooking the ocean and beach. The kitchen is in view and appears spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and the restaurant offers transport to and from local hotels.
The atmosphere in Sails is western even though they serve local dishes, the music being played during one visit was Irish, this, to us, was a shame and did not blend with the superb location and local views.

“Nice location, pity about the food”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

I struggle to relate the positive reviews of the food with our experience last night. Free transport and location were great. All three of us felt that the sauces were from a bottle, like "Chicken Tonight - Curry" or "Uncle Ben's - Sweet & Sour". I had Balinese Chicken Curry consisting of two pieces of chicken on the bone with a light brown watery sauce and rice. Over cooked and lacking any flavour. Very disappointing. Our worst meal in Bali so far. We discussed why our experience was so at odds with others but came to no conclusion. They have all the elements for success, they just need to sort out the food.
