Puri Wirata Dive Resort and Spa Amed
Ranked #6 of 22 Hotels in Amed

We were lucky enough to walk into this place without a booking and felt immediately at ease with the very helpful and friendly staff. On arrival there were big smiles, warm attitudes and welcome drinks. They picked up our bags from our previous (mistake of a) hotel with no fuss and at no charge.

We had the cheapest room in the place but we honestly thought it had the best view and was very private (Room 2). The bed faced carved wooden doors onto a balcony that overlooked the ocean allowing us to lounge in bed with an idyllic sea view.

The only downside to the room was a lack of ventilation to the bathroom and a smelly toilet. This was relieved after cleaning but got worse each day. We closed the door to the bathroom so it didn't affect the bedroom. The aircon is very effective in the room as it does get hot in Amed.
The food was really good and made even better by being able to enjoy it by either of two pools or in the frangipani garden.

We needed to hire a scooter one evening to meet friends and the staff arranged for us to hire their manager's bike, presumably because there were no others available with the short notice we gave. They trusted us with the bike even though it had no insurance and it was by far the best scooter we've had on our trip.

Overall, we can't wait to come back. The only thing we'll do differently is to book ahead.

We've stayed for one night only for a quick getaway to east bali. They got two pools! One for diving lesson, but you can swim also here, and one for lazy swimming. We loved it here. Spacey room, room #6, facing the sea, clean, food is ok no complain (though they don't serve coconut). Everyone was so friendly, including the belgian diving company owner nearby, who stopped by and greeted us while we're looking for coconut off the street. Very recommended if you're looking for a lazy getaway by the pool, since you can't really enjoy swim in the sea and no beachside near hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights about a month ago, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Despite the weather being rather disagreeable, I managed to do several memorable dives through the hotels dive shop. All the hotel facilities are clean and modern, and the restaurant staff were very friendly and eager to engage in conversation outside the normal 'courteous' greetings.

I paid a little bit extra and had a room with a sea view and a balcony on two sides, and it was worth it. You won't be disappointed waking up with a view of the sun slowly rising above the horizon across the ocean. The hotel is constructed on quite a steep hillside, and as a result some of the paths are quite steep, so if you are travelling with some "older" family members or friends, it might be something to consider.

We love puri wirata! The staff is friendly and helpful! Everything is clean and the food is delicious. We did two dive courses during our stay and five more fun dives, the dive masters are patient and really know what they are doing! We also spent time in the spa nearly daily, totally worth it! Highly recommend to anyone looking for good diving, a quiet resort with lots of local flavor, a kind staff, and great bargain!

Back again for the umpteenth time. The Puri Wirata team continues to provide excellent accommodation and service at a very reasonable price.
Only did one dive because of poor conditions, but the guide [I had Alit this time] went out of his way to make it a great experience despite the elements being against us.

Because of sickness we couldn't go to Amed and had to cancel our booking at the Puri Wirata about 5 days before going there. The operator responsible for the hotel booking (Exotissimo) first told us we would only get 50% of the money back, which - as we told them - is, to my point of view, by far too much. The guy from Exotissimo told us, he would ask the management of the Puri Wirata if that could be reduced. Two days later they first said, we would have to pay 75% (!!!) and then went back to 50%. During our trips in Europe (Italy, Spain, France ...) we have never encountered such tough conditions and i wouldn't have booked the hotel in advance if i had known these conditions beforehand. A rip-off, like Bali in general.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a bit surprised by this review.
We received the cancellation mail on May 24th from your agent and have cancelled your booking without cancellation fee the same day. It was re-confirmed to be without cancellation fee a few days later by mail and by phone. So your issue is with your agent and not with us.
It is a bit sad to see such a negative review with a direct attack to us, without staying here or verifying your facts.
If you want more info about this, feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,
Birger Finaut / General Manager
