Lovely place and owners. They were also very helpful. Can't say enough good things about it. Excellent situation near the japanese ship. Great view and atmosphere. Loved it!
On a side note just know that you need a vehicule to best enjoy the surroundings.

Great place to stay in Amed. Really nice view, great staff and solid bungalows at a good price..
Just infront of the the Japanese shipwreck so it is a good place if you like to snorkel with the ship at touching distance.

We had a great stay - this is a small collection of rustic cottages in a gorgeous setting on the point with nice breeezes, in a village that isn't overrun with tourists. I loved it, and would've happily stayed longer. The owners are so laid-back, friendly and helpful - they did a great job of looking out for what we were after and including us in local life, things we never would've known about if they hadn't been so involved and welcoming. The surroundings were gorgeous, right from the doorstep - beaches with sailing canoes (the local fishing fleet), snorkeling, tasty food, hiking, and George and Iluh are a fantastic resource. Not flashy (if you want a/c, maybe just stop for lunch and ask for a tip), but we were entirely pleased, good price too.

I chose this place from great reviews . very nice friendly hosts and staff. had lots of laughs.
20 steps from snorkling - no boat needed, always a breeze. sunset boat ride for agung view , good food , quiet location, 10 km south -, out of amed's crowded beach area. wished we had stayed 5 nights instead of 3! Thanks Iluh and George. Would definitely recommend.

My bf and I travelled up to Amed during our recent trip to Bali, as some friends of ours recommended it to us. We are so glad that we took their advice as we have now found our honeymoon destination!!

We stayed at Eka Purnama and loved it -
*awesome location -directly across the road is the Japanese shipwreck, which provides some amazing snorkelling. also, if this site is blown out, there's Jemeluk about 10mins down the road by scooter that will be good/amazing if the shipwreck isn't; next door is Baliku dive centre, awesome for scuba divers; excellent spot to watch the sunrise [spectacular views of Lombok!].
*bungalows are cosy and comfortable - [just what we needed! although i did forget to mention to my bf that there's no hot water...oops! the girls were kind enough to boil some water for us which did the trick :p]
*value for money - accommodation and food was very well priced!
*delicious food - yum! some amazing food [stick with the balinese style dishes]. the fish skewers and fish in banana leaf dishes were so good. i am also very fond of banana pancakes...very tasty!
*internet - ha! good luck! we actually enjoyed not having the distraction of the internet...actually got to enjoy the serenity!

We would definitely recommend Eka Purnama to anyone travelling up to Amed - it's a great location, accomodation is great, food is delicious and it's excellent value for money. As I said, we will be going back for sure :)

Room Tip: There is only 4 bungalows/cottages [I believe there's plans for a larger bungalow/house on their...

Eka Purnama Cottages is a true gem in East Bali. With basic comfortable rooms, and a location that makes excellent use of any available breeze, I’m certain you won’t find anything better for the price. Keep in mind, however, that this is not luxury accommodation. If you're expecting hot water and pillow mints, a bigger resort may be more your speed.

The restaurant is lovely, and the food is delicious. I would highly recommend any of their fresh fish dishes! They keep a nice collection of well maintained masks and fins, so you can walk out the front door, cross the street, and explore the sunken Japanese vessel. Swim a little further around the rocks for impressive anemone action.

Snorkeling in Amed is always a little touch and go, however. While you may get lucky and have a fantastic crystal clear view of a gorgeous reef teeming with life, it can also be a little choppy and murky. If snorkeling isn’t the absolute best when you arrive, you may consider a boat ride, or just relax and enjoy the laid back village atmosphere.

Internet and cell phone connectivity are kind of no go, which is part of the appeal for many! If you absolutely must connect, a hike up the hill will get you a few bars, and short motorbike ride will get you to a wireless hot spot.

We stayed on the Amed Coast last year and after meeting George and Iluh after that we decided we would love to show my sister and her husband the area and stay at Eka Purnama.

We had a long but picturesque drive over the mountain to Amed and George had told us about the views and the snorkelling from his place and we certainly were not dissappointed.

We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived, the capable staff at Eka Purnama are very friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. Even a traditional Balinese massage , which was just what we needed after travelling.

Our rooms had views to die for, we woke to the spectacular sight of Lombok at Sunrise every morning, The little cliff top cottages are clean and comfortable with everything you could ever need, fan and mosquito net, wardrobe and dressing table, great spacious bathroom, cosy reading corner and really comfy easy chairs on the verandah. Cottage 1 would be the pick of the bunch but they are all lovely and set in beautiful tropical gardens.

We snorkelled each day and with the Japanese wreck only 20 or so metres from shore there is no shortage of underwater activity. Abundant fish life and hard and soft corals. The nearby villages of Lipah and Jemeluk also offer great snorkelling with coral gardens prettier than I have ever seen.

We ate at Eka Purnamas Restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and between us over the 4 days didnt get a chance to work our way through the adequate menu. Food was freshly cooked and delicious. Great views from the restaurant too.

George and Iluh are wonderful hosts who live in their uniquie octagonal home on the property and George very proudly showed us around and explained that he built Eka Purnama and established the gardens himself. Their delightful 7 year old daughter Ketut Iona is also an asset to the business as she is a very capable guide of the area and great company too.

We would not hesitate to recommend Eka Purnama to everyone for its fantastic location and outstanding service at a great price. We will certainly return.

Thank you George and Iluh and Iona and Staff.

Room Tip: Cottage No. 1 best views along the bay and over to Lombok.
