We stayed here over New Year in three rooms. Two rooms were great, fairly modernised and clean. The third, while extremely spacious and boasting a verandah living area with daybed and hammock, was very dated with a musty smell and stains on the bedcovers. Towels smelled damp and the bath had been patched and had a water stain. Ask to see the rooms before deciding.

The restaurant had a serious fly problem but the waiters seemed unsure what to do about it - there were no flyswats or traps on the property.

Lovely pool - not too big, but perfect for lounging over noon, with a secure, shallow, kids' end.

Great beach area - although the beach is very rocky, they have put up decking and a shower and provide sun loungers beneath the shafe of a couple of trees. The snorkelling in front of the restaurant is very good, and even from the beach we saw a shark, and a ray leaping out of the water (obviously being chased by something big!)

The dive master is very good, and dives to the shipwreck at Tulamben were reasonably priced (€40) and well timed to avoid the crowds.

Large room but is up quite a few steps so if mobility is a problem may need to reconsider has semi outdoor shower but no shampoo etc we paid $50 AUD which was in off the street and in low season. We stayed in suite 2 but the views from suite 1 were better but there was no fridge in that room and for a $65 (normal price) room would thought a fridge would be in the room. The 2 suites also enjoy a large sitting room with awesome 180 degree views and it is on the beachfront in a traditional Bali garden setting the air con worked well and you get a nice breakfast (not buffet) The hotel has rooms on the other side of the road which is where the small pool is located. Ate at the restaurant for lunch food was ok but a bit pricey compared to others. Overall good sized rooms staff were ok food also ok is probably reasonable value but there is a lot of accom to choose from and we moved to 6 month old private villa "Amed Beach Villas" about 200 meters down the road for the same money

Room Tip: Ocean view suite have the best views and are private

I hate to disagree with some other reviews but we really enjoyed our meals at the Amed Cafe. We actually had a few meals there because we felt it had better meals to choose from and we liked the atmosphere, it was on the beach too. Yes the meals weren't as cheap as other Warungs but we thought it was good to go there for a change. I go back and eat there again.

I think of most of reviewers have got this right. The rooms are nothing flash and over priced. We stayed one night before moving to Double 1 Bungalows down the road which is much better and cheaper. We had at Amed Cafe also which was overpriced and poor quality.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms near the beach. Very hot and noisy.

Room was nice, but you don't want a rat in your room. The first night I saw one and the next day we found clothing eaten by it. Old bathroom. We rented one of the two bungalows on the beach side. Breakfast was poor, if you wanted some bread with your egg, you had to pay extra. We won't come back to this place.

We only had lunch there so I cannot comment on the Bungalows, but Amed Cafe was the worst meal and the worst service I experienced in Bali.

The service was incredibly slow, not just Bali-relaxing slow, but neglectfully so. We waited for over ten minutes to be given a menu and asked for a chili sauce that never came. The food was not only overpriced but also reminded us of microwave dinners.
As a former service industry employee I try to be aware of overwhelmed staff but that was not the case. All but one of the staff members were unfriendly, maybe because we weren't hotel guests?

We were so glad to be out of there after a 2.5 hour (not by choice) lunch.

There are so many far far better restaurants and warung in the Amed area, it's best to just avoid this one and eat a delicious meal with friendly owners and staff somewhere else.

We arrived here by chance, & were told there was no air-conditioned rooms, so we opted for one of the rooms on the poolside. The mosquito net around the bed was good considering the walls & windows were a good 5 inches apart.
The bathroom was below the bedroom and upon inspection seemed clean enough for 1 night. However, come nightfall dozens of cockroaches appeared. My partner got extreme food poisoning from dinner; which was fairly pricy in comparision to many other places.
I would not stay here again nor would I recommend others too.
