“disappointing”

Kamarajar Mani Mantapa Monument
Reviewed October 9, 2013

A memorial to a person who brought in free meal and education to kids for the first time in India, I felt, was very disappointing. known for his simplicity and connect with people that I gathered from various people, all you get to see is his photos with various people put around the wall.

Kamaraja was the first chief minister of Tamil Nadu and was also called the King Maker as he was instrumental in getting Indira Gandhi to the seat of Prime Minister.

An excellent and honest politician who started his career as a freedom fighter. Some rare photographs of Kamaraja is displayed here.

The Kamarajar Mani Mantapam contains rare pictures of Kamaraj taken during his life time. The building is situated near the Public convenience and hence the experience is not very good. Moreover, there are a lot of people just like in the Gandhi Memorial who hang around here for the day lying down, spreading their luggage which makes it even more uncomfortable.

The outside looks great, the height was made to surpass Gandhi Memorial. But inside was empty. There is nothing except some old photos and a statue.
The place need a complete overhaul.
