“Triveni Sangam”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

This is a unique beach where you witness the sangam of three seas- Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. It is considered holy to take a dip here. However the beach has been dirtied by the tourist and vendors alike. There should be restriction on sale of food items at the beach and the vendors should be made responsible for collection of litter. Otherwise a must for visiting tourist and the most bubbly place in Kanyakumari. Must visit the Vivekananda temple on the beach.

“'Sunrise point' : beautiful sunrise, dirty place”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

There are a few 'points' to watch sunrise from at Kanyakumari, but we went to a popular place close to the entrance of the Kanyakumari temple. A low stone wall separates the rocks and the sea below. This 'point' is absolutely dirty and noisy. By the side is a permanent shamiana for weddings and other such occasions with food catering businesses. While we were awaiting the sunrise, there was a continuous sound of large utensils being cleaned, the clutter of plates and spoons, and the loud conversations of cooks and cleaners. Left-over food and used banana leaves from the previous evening's function was being recklessly thrown on to the rocks below and into the sea. In the process, a lot of foodstuff landed near the place we were waiting. There were ants and flies plus a whole lot of crows. With camera in hand, not wanting to miss the sunrise, standing at this place was terrible.....so much of visual and sound pollution. The locals are mostly uneducated and obviously are not aware of the environment issues at all. It was sad to see so much garbage landing into the sea ! Coastal management and cleanliness are totally lacking in what could have been one of the finest and most attractive beaches. The authorities have to wake up quickly and do a lot to save this beautiful tourist place, the shore and the sea.

“Clean and amazing.”

This beach is very different from the beaches in Mumbai. Even the sea water was almost transparent. The beach was very clean.

“You must visit it once in your lifetime - It has history as deep as seas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

I made a quick dash to Kanyakumari -it was touch and go trip but my experience is unique. Its a small place and maybe crowded. One must find right time and spot to enjoy it. I think KK via Kerala is a better option than via TN. More so ever, try to go during end of monsoon...its less crowded and clouds are spectacular. Below are my experiences and photos .
